Spring Ultra offer?

My offer was for $500 cash, my husband got no cash. We cruised on two premiers this year in the spring ultra window and 3 more regular cruises.. I had over 35,000 in points on premiers, my husband had about 20,000. I gambled a little less on the regular cruises but at least 10,000 points a cruise. If you add this up, Carnival is losing 2 players who earn over 100,000 points per year. We always get a balcony cabins as my husband will sit and read for hours and upgrading from an oceanview is way more expensive now than previously.

Since we cruise often, RCCL is much better for us as they will give you credit by combining points on all cruises for the year and their upgrade prices are much lower.

I just turned Diamond so it is disappointing to leave Carnival but I will not play on land or sea where I am not appreciated.

Congrats to those who scored free cabins and I would love to hear how much play/points you had to receive those offers.

We did our first Premier in Sept and Getaway in Nov.  I usually get around 2000 or so points and my husband gets around 5000 points.  On the Getaway we were trying for at least one Ultra invite between us  and I got 3000 points and my husband got 7500.  We both got Ultra invites, I was surprised to get one, with $500 casino cash and $500 off rates.  I don't think theres any rhyme or reason how they do things but were glad to get the invites and after this will try out RCCL.

Thanks for the response, Cruisemom. You are right, there is no rhyme or reason. It seems they diss their regulars and give better perks to people who do not cruise as often as we do. Our friends received 2 free balcony cabins this year and didn't cruise as often or spend like we do. I have seen posts from people who haven't cruised in years getting much better perks then we do.

I have one Carnival cruise still booked for January (only because we are going with friends or I would have cancelled) and I will not gamble as much as usual, then off to a free balcony on RCCL through UrComped. Maybe Carnival will become more transparent in their point system and woo us back someday.

Have a great time (you will, Ultras are a lot of fun).

For MamaB: the invitee and 1 guest get to draw for the prizes.

We now have 2 Ultras booked!!  While the prices aren't great we do each get $500 casino cash back so that will be nice, I just wish you earned points on that money but you don't in the slot machines anyway.  We are sailing on the Vista for the first time and booked March 3 and March 31.  We can drive a couple of hours to Galveston so that is the easiest and cheapest option.  We are excited to try an Ultra.  Now to make some specialty dining reservations.

My offer for the Spring Ultra was a free Ocean View + $500 Casino Cash. Requires a $200 deposit that gets refunded in onboard credit. This is the same offer I got on the last round of Ultra cruises.

If possible could you provide a rough idea of how many points you had on your premier cruise(s)? Maybe if Carnival sees that we are comparing among ourselves they will be more transparent.

Very disappointed in my Ultra offer. Same expensive prices and no free play. Princess seems to offer us the best offers.

What kind of offers do you get from Princess? What amount of play is required?

Thanks for any responses.

But didn’t your Ultra offer come with casino cash? And all of the free gifts? I had an offer for a free interior (with $100 per person on board credit), and booked an 8 day Ultra cruise in a balcony cabin for about $1500 total. With that, I have $200 OBC, $500 in casino cash, and all of the perks and gifts. I’m ok with paying that for an 8 day southern Caribbean cruise for a (so far) net cost of $800. Now if I can just win a new iPhone onboard, I’ll be set!

We got off an Ultra cruise about a month ago that offered $1000. casino cash, got $700 more on ship in Ultra games, won an ipad mini 4, and still it's likely that was our last Ultra cruise.

The casino is far more crowded then usual, the cash disappears as quickly as you get it, and the price of the Ultra cruise recently has been raised to near retail, so the 'net' in reality is your prize, and the $300 ipad mini 4 just didn't make it work!

Yea you might win, but honestly those winners on Ultra cruises are few and far between!

The Glory had approx 500 Ultra's on board, as did the Breeze!

I just did a mock booking for the March 3rd Vista sailing. I saved exactly $2.00 using my Ultra offer over early saver for the exact same room.

Our Glory Ultra saved us $80., the Breeze about $250., but it was a 14 day cruise. We felt the prizes didn't make up for the higher cabin prices compared to what we got last year! For some the casino cash might be the difference, but not to us, and we get over $1000. combined!

The offers seem worse for the more casino cash you get!

We get over $1000.  but pay almost full retail price.

We're Platinum so the other benes. aren't that important to us!

We got 31 days booked next year, and I'm seriously thinking we might cancel all of them, and head over to NCL, or UrComped also for a free balcony on RCL!

My offer was $200 casino cash and $1 less than next cheaper price. All the OV were gone on the ships I was considering and the balconies were too expensive. The last time I got free offers was in 2016. I took 3 free cruises that year. Since then the "up to $500 off" has never been more than $100 less than the next best offer. The smoke has been overwhelming on my last three premiers so maybe I'll try the other lines. I haven't been on RC for a few years but others say they are getting much better offers. And they have nonsmoking sections of the casino. Happy for those of you that received good offers!

I sure wish I could figure out how these offers come out.  I've cruised 3 times in the past year (14 total cruises lifetime) and always spend $$$$ in the casino.  I'm a table player so no idea on the proverbial 'points' as table players don't get points.  I do manage to get about 2300 slot points per cruise just by taking a break from the tables.  Usually get DOU the first day. Even got the $1000 cookies last cruise.  Just got off a cruise and didn't even get a Bounce Back (or whatever they are calling it now) much less any offers.   My DIL who cruised once and put a grand total of $20 in a single slot gets offers!    Love Carnival but about ready to jump ship to NCL or RCCL.

My offer $500 off and $500 in casino cash.  Did mock booking no deal and limited cruises.  My two past Ultras were blah got $500 funshop credit on one and $300 free play on other both on the wheel of doom.  Casino was over crowded due to players club over selling the Ultras.  Usually have more fun on the Premiers and even better no Player Club themed cruises.  Had great offers in the past but they have gone to weak lately.  I still get great land based offers and January may be my last Carnival cruise...love the crew but no love  for the new Players Club Management.

Cheers, good luck and happy cruising.

I don't think they give the bounce back offers on the last night as they have done in the past. However depending on your play, they can give you free inside, ocean view or balcony for you to book when you want. Honestly I prefer it this way as I hated booking within 15 days. Right now I have many cruises to choose from all the way up to next summer. 1 of my cruises each year is with a friend, who only players tables and probably spends more than I do however she doesn't get the offers I do, so I agree it might be harder for table players.

As for RCI and NCL,  I cruise them as well and truth be told my best offers, where I win the most and I get treated the best is on Carnival. I recently cruised the Bliss, I stopped gambling after the 3rd night when my largest bonus on the slots was $10. That never happens to me, lol. I just got a free balcony yesterday from them and I probably will not use it.

Whatever cruise you choose- Good luck and have a great time!

Just off my 1st Ultra cruise on the Magic Nov 11-18.  Came home with an IPad Pro and several W2G's, so I was looking forward to the next ULTRA availability.

From my VIFP special offers page, I see 3 ULTRA sailings in March and one in April.  Lowest fare for a week was $1500 with taxes & tips for an inside, solo, no fun cash at all.  YIKES!

I'm beginning to wonder if Carnival is factoring in hand pays and how many offers you take into it's calculations for perks. I had several hand pays this year and took them up on a few offers and I have been receiving less perks.

Question from a "Plus One" on the 4/27 Ultra on the Sunshine... does this one have just the DOU card or does it allow you to get drinks anywhere on the ship?

Also, I understand from the above thread that the +1 guest won't get the big prize (iPad mini etc) but do we get the other gifts that are left in the cabin?

You can only get drinks in the casino and only from the servers, you cannot go to the bar and order for free.

If you also have an offer for the Ultra you will be included in the big drawing, if no offer then you will not be included.
