Free Drink Mash Up

Another thread about beverage packages made me wonder what creative things people do with the free drinks onboard to add a little variety. I have done the following:

  • Put soft serve ice cream in coffee to make the Lido coffee tolerable
  • Brought water flavoring to add to water
  • Mixed tea and lemonade

So what are your tricks for making the free beverages more fun (or drinkable)?

Here's an old, very long thread with lots of suggestions:

ETA: It starts off mostly talking about food, but includes many drink suggestions, eventually.

I've posted this several times. Orange juice from lido breakfast,  soft serve vanilla ice cream and vodka from  Von Voyage  bottle in room.  Viola,  adult creamsickle drink.  I put it in my Yeti and I  sip on it out on the lounges, reading, relaxing and soaking up the sun......ahh.

Putting ice in water. Seriously, the only thing I drink on land and at sea is water.

LOL - us folks in the tropics do that routinely!

Water without ice (any drink without ice) is unthinkable!!

We often make fresh "brewed" tea on the ship.  Since the tea in the dispensers is marginally acceptable and real sugar does not dissolve well in cold tea, we make a few cups of hot tea (with the provide tea bags and sugar).  Once steeped, we pour it in an insulated cup with ice for some good ole southern iced tea.

Saw someone mention they bring rootbeer and make rootbeer floats with the free ice cream. Hmmm

Yeah, I think it was on either the "cruise hacks" or the "Lido creations" thread and I think it involved using one of the large glasses from the Self-serve beer station. Not a bad idea.
