Super bowl Sunday on Carnival Pride.

Hello,

We booked a cruise last month on the Carnival Pride. I just learned that our first day on the ship is Super bowl Sunday. For anyone who has been on the Pride for the Super bowl, do they have extra places to view of the game? And extra food options after the game?

Thank you.

I have not been on Carnival for Super Bowl Sunday, but I have been on Princess and HAL.  And I have read about it here.  It will be a big deal.  Likely it will be on the big screen in the theater with tailgate food set up around the back.  It will be on in the sports bar and casino.  Enjoy.  EM

I watched the Super Bowl last year (February 2018) on Magic.  Every TV on the ship showed the game, to include a large screen in the front theater and the outdoor screen. If I recall correctly they kept both Guys and Blue Iguana open late that night. We watched the game in the Red Frog Pub. We got seats at the bar around 2 PM right on front of a TV and hung out there the rest of the day/night.

I was on Pride for Super Bowl Sunday in February 2018.

They had it on the big screen on Lido.

I remember some people complaining that it wasn't on at any of the indoor bars.

I didn't watch it, so it didn't matter to me.

We were on the Splendor for super bowl last year.  They set up the entire pool area for viewing.  the only disappointment was that due to maritime laws (or something like that), they broadcast from YouTube so we did not get to see any of the commercials.  Apparently they were not allowed to broadcast them for copyright reasons or because they were not considered "local" for Mexico.

We have been on both the Victory and the Sunshine for the Super Bowl.  It was showed on the Big Screen on the Lido, on a big screen in the main show lounge as well as in the Sport Bar.  They also had various snacks and drink specials during the game.

We have cruised for the Super Bowl three times. I am a big Patriots fan and all three cruises they were playing. The first time was on the Spirit we watched Super Bowl XLVI in the theater (they did not have a TV on Lido) we lost to the Giants. They had some games and special food. The next time was on the Conquest Super Bowl XLIX against the Seahawks with the Patriots winning on a last second interception in the end zone (thanks Pete) this was mostly only on the Lido but they did have the game available in your room. I thought I would never see a better SB than that but then we cruised again on the Sunshine in 2017 for SB LI and I witnessed the best comeback ever watching the Patriots beat the Falcons. Same on this cruise everything on Lido with special football type food. I have the Panorama booked for Superbowl weekend in 2021 so I am hoping my streak of watching the Patriots in the SB stays alive.

Not Superbowl Sunday for me but my cruise coming up on Carnival Pride on October 20th that night my Philadelphia Eagles will be the Sunday Night NBC game so I will be in their Sports Bar watching the game and cheering on my Birds against those loser Cowboys.

Carnival no longer carries NBC so you likely won’t be able to see the game. I cruised on two Sundays last Fall. During the day on Sunday every game was available thru Sunday Ticket, but the Sunday night games were not shown.

Well that sucks. Seriously they have NFL Sunday Ticket but no NBC, a network channel. I get it if they do not have a lot of cable channels but your non cable network channel should be a standard.

Another thing to remember is that for all of Sunday evening you should have regular cell service and you can stream the game most likely if you needed to.  Not ideal, but at least you would still see it if the ship wasn't showing it.
