Question about water and ice at the bars

Recommended Posts

My friend and I are going on the Allure fire sale GS Aug 18.  She does not want to get a drink package because she does not drink much😳

Of course I Like my adult beverages and and fizzy water.😍

When I was  on HOTS two weeks ago,  I saw quite a few people with insulated tumblers getting ice and water in their tumbler.  Is this a refreshment package thing or can anyone utilize the bars for this?

I am so bummed out I can't get the DBP!  Disastrous first world problem!

I guess I will have to pay as I go..😝

Would they by any chance give you a club soda from their soda machine?     🤩

I think there is a charge for any fizzy drink. Your friend will have no problem getting a glass of tap water and one of ice from any bar. She will have to pour it into her tumbler herself.

They do not give or sell individual fountain drinks.  Fountain drinks are only for those with beverage packages.

You can buy a can of club soda for around $4.

I think I can forgo fizzy water for a week.🤪

I may be spending the majority of my time in the lounge!

BTW, there was a HUGE bargain price for the GS and I grabbed it, so I guess I will just have to tough it out!  😉

As I said before, first world problems.

Remember, you are allowed to bring 12 containers (each no larger than 500ml) of non-alcoholic beverages on at initial embarkation.

Pretty sure you will be able to get your fizzy water free in the lounge from 11 to 8

According to the concierge email we received, drinks are for purchase now in the suite lounge except for 4:30 to 8.

Here's what our email said on the topic:

·  Bar service is available from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm in the Suite Lounge, serving a wide array of beverages for purchase.

·  Hors d'oeuvres, petit fours and complimentary bar setup with a selection of wine, spirits, beer and soft drinks every evening from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

We never were in the lounge before the evening hours and had packages anyway, so we never really tested this out or asked.  This was on Harmony last week.

Thanks for the info.  We will see if this is the start of a change of policy for Oasis class suite lounges.

We have only been on Anthem so can't speak to the rest of the fleet. We ordered diet coke for the minibar. We ordered 24 for a 12 day cruise, came out to $2 per can including grats. You can order 6 or 12 cans but the price per can is higher though still much less than getting them one at a time at a bar.  Don't know if they have cans of club soda.

Can always get ice and water in the OV cafe and at your ship's equivalent to cafe promenade.

You can always get ice and water in any restaurant or bar. Should not fill tumbler directly from the spigot, though -- fill RC-provided cups, and dump those into the water bottle for sanitary reasons.

You could also try to purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package on board -- many reports here of people being able to purchase just one. Wouldn't be the lower price you'd get online, but still cheaper than paying for two if one won't be used!

Can I get some in ports too?

Technically no.  You may be able to bring it on board at ports, or they may confiscate them.

You can probably get by with 1 or 2 SEALED ones.

Grand Suite?   = Free drinks for you both from 4:30 - 8 in the lounge.

Also beer, wine, and soda 11am to 11pm, in the suite lounge, at least that's what it was last October. There isn't a big choice of beer or wine but it worked just fine for us.

A couple of years ago on Indy, I didn't had a package and got soda fountain in the casino bar when I bought soda. That did happen over several days.

There are always exceptions.
