BirdTravels do you have the menu that includes desserts?

Bird has the menu posted on her current Joy trip report (1st page)

We were on the Escape in April (and did a live post). Since that time, NCL supposedly standardized menus across the fleet. I have no evidence that Bayamo by Ocean Blue has the exact same menus as the other Ocean Blues in the fleet.

Post #31 has the Ocean Blue menu from the Joy.

On the Joy, there is no longer an upcharge and there are no upcharge items. Personally, I don’t see this lasting.

When we were on the Escape in June there was an upcharge at Bayamo,  $10 if I remember correctly.

There were also upcharge menu items, I had the lobster. Probably will not do that again. but the atmosphere was very  upscale.

We just got off the Escape yesterday and we ate at Bayamo.  No upcharge.  You got to order one appetizer, one main and 2 sides and one dessert.   The chocolate sorbet was awesome....

Can you settle the debate whether the full lobster has an uncharge or not?

Or maybe someone else recently on one of the OB/Bayamo ships can clarify.  Thanks.

On the Escape there was no upcharge.   I had the full lobster as well and no extra fee.  I did not think it was that great.

the best things were the scallop appetizer and chocolate sorbet..

service was great.

We we sat outside and I was in a sundress and hubby in pants but the table next to us had a guy in shorts.

one apetizer?

did ncl change the policy of unlimited appetizers with sdp when they changed  the upcharge policy fleetwide?

Not unlimited.  They told us exactly what we could have at each restaurant.

In Cagneys I had 2 appetizers instead of one and a salad.

lol.. what the staff is instructed to tell you and what you are allowed to order are two different things!

earlier this year before the upcharge eliminations, i got the same spiel about 2 apps at le bistro.

i ordered 5 apps and told the waitress to charge me if the computer doesnt say free.  (she genuinely believed it was 2 app limit because thats what she was taught.)

my bill was $0.

I just saw the Ocean’s Blue menu from the Encore TA and it shows extra fees for certain items on the menu.  Curious if recent (last few cruises) cruisers on the Escape had this same menu and the upcharges?

Where do you go to change, cancel or make dining reservations once you board the Escape?  Will the menus for each restaurant be there for you to look at?

So, you want to change your reservation because the two lobster entrees on the whole minus has an upcharge ??? Can you avoid the two items and keep your reservation?

Otherwise, go to Headliners on embarkation day.

Just off escape yesterday. No upcharges printed on menu. We were told very clearly you could order 1 app or 1 soup or 1 salad plus 1 entree with 2 sides (premium sides included) plus 1 dessert. Anything else is charged at full a la carte pricing.

Thank you.  Your response was helpful.

I hope you enjoyed your cruise!

We were on Escape cruise before last and went to Bayamo. Both of us got the surf and turf. We ate the lobster tails and maybe half of the filet. It was a lot of food.

We ordered the desserts to go since we were totally full, The chocolate mousse and apple tart were plated and wrapped to go. We ate it the next day at Spice H2O as a mid morning snack.

No upcharge, and we thought the food was fine. From the picture I took, looks like we ordered brussel sprouts, asparagus and hollandaise, risotto and scalloped potatoes. All those sides plus a lot of wine make it hard to finish the entree!

The up charge may change. On the live review by Dougout on the Encore there are upcharges for the Tiger shrimp cocktail, the crab cake, the surf and turf and the cold water lobster in Ocean Blue. And the amounts are not insignificant. The menu is virtually the same as Bayamo.

Bayamo seemed to be a hot ticket on Escape. We had it booked for late on the departure evening but were able to change it to earlier on the next night, once we boarded. Still, there did not seem to be too many open slots and the hostess was encouraging us to go sooner because the seafood would be more "fresh" but it's likely all been frozen in my opinion.

I would not appreciate an upcharge for the surf and turf. The filet was average in flavor and the lobster tail, while good, was not anything huge that would seem to warrant an upcharge. Maybe the upcharge will serve to limit the crowds, because if most everyone has the dining package now, they won't be able to accommodate everyone who wants to use the package there.

I've seen OPs state "take a photo of the terms and conditions, when you book".

Not sure if that makes a difference but they presently only speak to additional entrees. I prefer ordering a few apps and  salad to a main course so will see what happens - cruise is in 69 days, not that I'm counting LOL

last cruise, only the waiter in Cagneys spoke of the 1 app or salad etc limit.   It was Day 8 of a 10 day cruise - we'd had more than enough to be satisfied and it was the best meal and waiter we had.

However, it is frustrating, tracking what the rule of the day is and the inconsistency.    On our first BA cruise, I thought it would've been more aptly named, the Nickel &  Dimeaway".   I still feel that is true of NCL.   So why am I platinum?   Casino promos/7star cruises;  but I have switched land based casinos so I may switch to their promo line (RCCL) or go back to Princess or decide after trying RCCL, that  the Haven makes it worth these  minimal frustrations.  Nice options all.
