tring Posted September 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Thinking of booking an inside cabin on Sun Princess (or poss another Princess ship). Can anyone tell me if you can get a view of the outside on cabin TV's so you have an idea of what is out there?

Gosh that was a quick reply, thank you very much. It would be our first Princess Cruise if we go ahead with the booking.
Rare leck57 Posted September 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2019 I should have said the view is directly straight ahead so if there is just ocean straight ahead that is all you'll get. The camera doesn't scroll unfortunately.

skynight Posted September 19, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Go to the Princess.com web site. Select Onboard Our Ships, then Bridge Cams, then your ship. This is similar to what you would view except it would be live real time and in motion.
Colo Cruiser Posted September 19, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Great for an inside cabin. 😎
susancruzs Posted September 19, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Yep, awesome idea for an inside cabin. Sailing single, I do insides. The web cam is my window! I leave the TV on web cam all night. I'm an early riser so when the TV screen gets lighter, time to think about getting up!
AF-1 Posted September 19, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2019 I usually leave my tv on the front webcam. When I come back to the room I can see what's in front of the ship. During the day it's nice; you can't see anything at night; but leaving my tv on when I wake up it's the first thing I see.
satxdiver Posted September 19, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2019 I believe that the ship cam Princess website is exactly what one sees in the cabin less the script that appears on the website cam. It is nice to see what is in front of the ship even in port.

hobbyfarmer2 Posted September 19, 2019 #12 Share Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) The Regal often points the camera astern to view the Retreat pool at night. Edited September 19, 2019 by hobbyfarmer2 Spellcheck
getting older slowly Posted September 20, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Unfortunately the quality is not very good on newer large panel screens .. Example the sunrise looked great got out of deck it was very average... But having said that it is better than nothing... it gives you an idea of the outside world Cheers Don

Expat Cruise Posted September 20, 2019 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Yes on the TV you can get the Bridge Cam, it is from the bridge and the view is straight over the bow. Have been on the Sun many times and used it. Here is a link to the Sun Bridge cam https://www.princess.com/bridgecams/?shipCode=SP Also it should be noted on the Sun Princess Deck 11 & Deck 10 you have two open deck areas that run under the Bridge, most people do not know about them so almost never used. Located at the end of the passenger hallways. Was on Deck 10 for a sail out from Sydney, while deck 14 was packed deck 10 had only 4 guest using this area.
