RC Visa OBC

Can anyone tell me when we should see our RC Visa OBC posted to our account? We submitted $1450 worth months ago, but still do not see it in our booking. We are 62 days out from sailing so I was just curious if anyone knows when they apply it.

Visa points OBC is posted in order of cruising date and usually appears around 2-3 weeks before the cruise.

Not sure if they always do this, but on one of our recent cruises, we called and they posted it about 7 weeks before that cruise.

 

It took a couple of calls to find some one who would do it, but we explained there was a sale going on that we wanted to use it on.

 

It doesn’t hurt to call and ask, if this is what you have in mind.

We use Visa OBC for every cruise we take and never had a problem.  Sometimes we don't see it until we actually get on the ship.  I always save the email confirmation from Visa or print out a copy as a back-up in case a problem would occur.

They claim that it will appear 1-2 weeks prior to sailing.  In our experience, if it has not appeared at 2 weeks prior, I have called them and it appeared within 24 hours of my call.

Bob- is it true that you can request for it to be applied earlier?  And, can it be applied to your final payment?

Yes, you can request it be applied earlier, and I've read reports where this was granted.  However, OBC can never be applied to cruise fare.

Is there a cut-off date by which you must redeem your rewards?  If I remember correctly, once you redeem, it's a done deal.  I hate to do it too soon and lose it if a cancellation were to occur before we sail.

The website says to call if the redemption is less than two weeks before the cruise.

I have done that in the past, but more recent reports have been that it will be credited when they get to it.

 

You can always call and ask.

While it is true that OBC cannot be applied to your cruise fare, you don’t need to redeem your points for OBC. You can redeem them for reduction in the cruise fare. That is a different option, but it’s there.

My cruise isn't until Feb 2020, and I redeemed my points back in Dec 2018, and I called in Jan.. and they were put on my cruise planner that same day..  I would just call.
