Rare crusinbanjo Posted March 24, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2020 I admit that stole this idea from somebody else on a different board, but it is a great idea! So here goes..... Since we're not able to cruise now please share some photos of your favorite Silversea ships and where you went . Here are a few of my favorites from Hong Kong to Singapore via Vietnam January 2019 on Board Silver Whisper. 3
Rare jpalbny Posted March 24, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2020 Great idea! Two of my favorite recent cruises were Iceland in August 2019, and South America in October 2017. Iceland and some of its amazingly beautiful waterfalls. And of course, the beautiful horses. Ecuador, Isla Lobos de Tierra. A blue-footed booby. Nazca lines! (LOL my smartphone autocorrected to "Mazda lines") The breathtaking view of the Chilean altiplano, a few miles from Bolivia. Or was that the 15000 feet of altitude taking my breath away? Flamingos in the salt flats of the Atacama Desert. Can't wait to get back to exploring this beautiful planet we live on. Stay safe, all! 3

Rare mysty Posted March 24, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2020 Wonderful idea! We live in an apartment community with mostly senior people and are adhering to social distancing mandates. We have a group chat on another app and each morning I post photos from our 2019 WC and pretend that we are all aboard the Good Ship Lollipop. Each day is a new port. Pictures of sunrises, scenery, excursions, food and sunsets. It keeps me busy looking through my photo collection and resizing to fit and it seems to be entertaining our neighbours. Win Win! Thanks for starting this thread!

It would entertain your virtual "neighbors" to the south as well. Just because the border is closed doesn't mean that you can't share with us too!

We have all experienced visiting someone who had traveled and wants to show ALL their photos! 🙄 I will share some photos and try to be respectful of everyone's patience! QueSeraSera Posted March 25, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2020 Love your videos davey. Where we'd love to be: Our favorite excursion, sailing regatta at St Maarten this past fall Meeting new people from different places: And although off-topic, a picture of my grand daughter coping with a young gentleman who just happened to have an umbrella at an opportune time (no social distancing, from this past summer)

Daveywavey70 Posted March 25, 2020 #14 Share Posted March 25, 2020 And my Silversea favourite vids. Maybe a suggestion for anyone in self isolation with several days to kill. By the end of this year I was hoping to have added a Greek Cruise including a land trip to Meteroa, Norwegian Fjords and Svalbard, Dublin mini cruise from Liverpool and my Greece to venice 50thBirthday extravaganza. All looking slightly less than hopefully right now. Keep smiling friends. 3

Rare mysty Posted March 26, 2020 #24 Share Posted March 26, 2020 (edited) Here are some photos from our overland trip to Bhutan from our port in Bangkok in 2016. We flew Drukair to Paro, Bhutan over the Himalayas. This was a view from the plane: We visited the Buddha Dordenma site just outside Thimphu. The Buddha Dordenma is a 169 foot bronze Buddha: Myster climbed to Paro Taktsang (also known as Tiger's Nest Monastery), a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site. The temple complex is located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan 900 meters off of the ground. The hike takes between four and five hours to do the round trip hike, plus one more hour to tour the monastery. Elevation Gain: 1,700 feet Highest Elevation: 10,232 feet. Start of the climb: Getting closer: Almost there: Prayer Wheels: We rejoined the ship in Singapore. Edited March 26, 2020 by mysty
silkismom Posted March 26, 2020 #25 Share Posted March 26, 2020 WOW, how exciting to see places that we will never be able to tour. Please keep them coming. BTW, we saw some chipmunks in our garden, most excitement we've had for awhile.😁 We WERE supposed to fly to FLL to get on the Shadow tomorrow (sob)
