There were a couple of other concerts we booked and we have been credited for.  The others are still sort of on the books,... maybe!

Isn't that the magic word lately.....

So, concerts cancelled in 2020.  We were supposed to see Chicago (for the 4th or 5th time) it was scheduled for April.  It has now been rescheduled twice since then.  We were supposed to see Robin Trower last September, it hasn’t been rescheduled, is Robin Still alive?  We were supposed to see the Decemberists for the 2nd time in August.... no word on it’s reschedule.  We had an entire season of the St Louis Cardinals cancelled, we didn’t get to watch the Blues try to repeat (boy did the wheels fall off that bus).  Lost 3 weeks of vacation plans.  We went to a local socially distanced dinner concert doing Sinatra stuff, that was actually really good.  There were a couple of other concerts we booked and we have been credited for.  The others are still sort of on the books,... maybe!

I love Chicago. Have seen them at least 3/4 times.

Just a difference in Ideology.

FWIW, plenty of family members have served in Army, Air Force, US Merchant Marine and USMC. Some saw action in Vietnam and Desert Storm.

As for ideology, let's just say I can't be pigeon holed.

Glad to see I'm no longer on your "Do not reply" list. 😉

Not disagreeing with but when you're in the 'nam it was definitely a war. Because the Vietnam war was so damn political, congress wouldn't issue a declaration of war on North Vietnam and called it a conflict. I'll get off my soap box now.  ☮️

Maybe no president should allow armed conflict unless HE has served in active combat, and/or he has a son or daughter serving.... It's too easy for politicians to offer up others to be sacrificed.

I was supposed to see Brad Paisley this past Nov at Foxwoods. It's been rescheduled twice and is now this Dec....  maybe.

Foxwoods is about 20 minutes from home depending on traffic. I used to go to the buffet there. Though I prefer the Mohegan Sun buffet before it shutdown due to the virus. I'd go there and think that I'm in the Windjammer. 😊 Hopefully, it comes back soon.

You have never been on my DNR list.

OMG, after I wrote that I realizes that acronym in medicine means "do not resuscitate"...😯😇

Note to self: Stay away from RI hospitals. 😄

I actually like Mohegan Sun better. The casino, the rooms, overall look and vibe. Plus, they have Krispy Kreme and Chik-Fil-A.

I'm about 2 hours away, in the other direction.  Used to make day trips there but the drive back gets to be very loooonnng in the evening. So now it's overnight if I can get a decent rate at the casino or just stay at a local place in Mystic or Groton.

Pigeons! The weather was warm here today, about 70 F. So we were sitting out in the backyard reading and drinking Blood Mary's. And the crows flew over fighting and dropped a dead, bloody pigeon very near my husband's head. He was sitting in the patio chair and there was the huge *thonk* right behind him. He jumped up and screamed and I was laughing too hard to take a very good photo. :classic_biggrin::classic_biggrin: We have weird wildlife here. :classic_biggrin:

Edit: I will delete the original photo. This one is a little more tasteful.

CCR sang that message in 1969..."Fortunate Son".

A few years ago the crows were making a fuss over something and I looked up into the spruce trees and there was a hawk trying to raid their nest.

All the crow community were dive bombing the hawk. It started to fly away and they continued to chase it. Unfortunately one went directly under the hawk, so the hawk grabbed it with its claws and flew away with the adult crow.  The crow community continued to chase it.  The hawk flew to a near by fence post and enjoyed his larger snack.

I'm sure there is a parable here of some sort. It was like a mini Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom in right by the pool.

I do enjoy watching shows on TV about wild life and how they survive.

But where I live, (Not Africa), home town USA, in the great state of O-H-I-O, we are having a bit of a problem in our county Trumbull with coyotes.

The girl I used to work with had her dog one of those little Pomeranian's attacked and abducted from her backyard when she just let it out to do it's morning run. Out of the corner of her eyes she sees a coyote  waiting sitting on their wooden fence, attacked and right before her eyes took her before she could react.  She called the sheriffs   department they responded.  But her puppy was gone.

This was the lead story on our news.

I have heard the coyotes at night, never saw one.

We have close to our house a fox, deer, raccoon, wild turkeys, ducks that nest every year, occasional bear,  a couple hawks as well as damn snakes.

I have a rake to attack the snakes (Susies snake rake) and a loud scream that will knock the socks off of any unwanted visitor.  Except bear, I run. Very fast.

A few years back they had a night shoot at the airport we live close to that has a reserve base to shoot all the coyotes.  I heard it was successful.  It was announced at the town hall meeting ahead of time so people would not be wary of all the gunshots.

Just saying.

We have a bit of a menagerie in my back yard as well.  And last night a 300 pound Boar hog showed up to "rearrange" some of our yard on the edges.  Plus way too many night time visiting Racoons, and one really ugly (but cute to his mother I am sure 😉 ) Possum.   I take the bird feeder in at night.  Not to mention the visiting Alligators...that can't read. 😮

All coyote shooting does is stimulate breeding from my understanding. We have an issue with them in my town and I see them frequently. For awhile there was an uproar about them but slowly people seem to be learning that we have ro learn to coexist.

Possums are not the cutest animals but be glad you have them. They help control the rodent population, eat ticks, are not aggressive to people (they play dead when feel threatened), and they do not harbor rabies because of their lower body temperature.

I love sitting on my back deck, having a cocktail and listening to coyote's howling late at night. Seems to be happening less and less these days. Development encroaching on their habitat I think.

In related news, a lot more cats roaming thru the neighborhood.

We leave out water and food for a feral cat that occasionally visits , many times possums and or raccoons will finish the food the cat doesn’t eat . I have seen the cat , possums and raccoon in the yard at the same time they seem to all get along 😁

Yeah, I don't mind the Possum.  He is really docile and is so ugly...he is cute.  😉  Doesn't try to get up into my bird feeder, quiet, and does not tear up the yard.

The big boar that has been here for a couple of nocturnal visits though...I am worried about.  Could wake up one night and find my whole yard has been rototilled.  😲

Cool nights here in central FLA again, called for a "down home southern comfort food" dinner.   Made a potato biscuit topped chicken pot pie.  Yumms Y'all!  😉

That looks delicious.  I had to google "potato biscuit," never heard of that before.

We have Bobcats and Coyotes also...but don't see them in the winter season.  Too many "snowbirds" in residence at this time...and they all have little dogs that "mark" the yards when they walk them, not to mention a lot of yappy noise going on during the day.

Oh gosh our visiting Raccoons don't get along at all.  Can hear them screaming at each other in the middle of the night as they search for leftover bird seed on the ground that fell from the feeder.  😮
