@Sea Dog congrats on moving up the C&A ladder.  Have been slowly reading your review, not quite caught up.  You do have a great writing style, loving it so far.

Thanks I’m having fun with it. I wish I could do it live but my brain works better when I can organize, write and then post. Time goes by way to fast on a ship for me to do it live. I am going to try it on oasis for the Bella Cruise. I’m hoping we can have one big thread with all of us posting.

Final chapter:

2006 GTO FOB replacement update.

First and foremost I think it is amazing how sometimes the most easiest solution evades me.

Now, the cost was anticipated.

Who would have thought to just call a locksmith to get a replacement FOB?

Not me, but the car repair shop did.

So 2 FOB's were easily acquired.

The hard part was re-programing them to work on my car.

Yes, he had the FOB's

But did not have the system to program them

So, he consulted another repair shop (my request was first time getting new ones).

And after taking the new ones apart, borrowing some techno whatchamacallics from the first ones, he had success.

Now, you may wonder why he did not send us with car to locksmith??

Well I guess some of those business have the ability to reporgram.  Our hick town USA does not.

We would have had to travel to get the job down.

Happy today.

Now next week will be the second edition of taking the 1966 GTO back to work on the lights and wind shield wipers.  New motors are in for these features, but now that we are dwindling into fall, so few car shows and cruise inns happening, and that GTO will be going  away for a long awaited beauty treatment.

I can only hope that this change in the parts of the car, makes it work.

Take care

Does the owners manual for the car have instructions for programming a new fob? I think all of my cars that had fobs had the ability to program them.

My husband tried that way. No success.

The problem was locating a Pontiac FOB. We got generic replacements for lack  of a better word. No Pontiac ones to be found.

Be safe.

Exactly. He even waited about 5 minutes before coming down and greeting us. You know cats, they love to play hard to get.

Ours would disdainfully ignore us for about an hour but then would do the opposite and attach himself to my wife for a solid day. He tried to be an aloof cat but he wasn't good at it.

It's been a crazy couple of days and I keep forgetting to post an update.

Yesterday she was at the fracture clinic without me as I had an all day meeting for one of my consulting jobs...thank goodness for my mom who took her.

They were able to get the xray and CT scan from the other hospital and there was a small fracture.  they took the cast off and put her in a walking boot and told her to keep using the crutches for 2 weeks and not put any weight on it.  Funnily enough the Dr. she saw trained the person that treated her in Orillia initially.  It appears that I am attending to her every beckon call for another 2 weeks.

They went to set her up with an appointment with an ankle specialist in 2 weeks but he is off then so the appointment is in a week but they did say that it does not appear that surgery will be necessary.

Vikki was very happy to get the boot as she can now manage to get into the tub and sit on a temporary bench that I made for her

Good news that Vikki apparently doesn't need surgery.  I hope "does not appear" means definitely "does not need". My ankle surgeon told me my ankle was fractured in 3 places but he only had to repair 2.  3rd was probably small enough to heal on its own like Vikki has.

I never cook chulent overnight as my mother did.  I start it at the crack of dawn and let it cook the whole day.  Comes out good enough.  Can't remember the last time I made it.

At the time, not sure about now, there were only 2 hospitals in Rockland County.

So sorry about your father.

Thank you,Bonnie

Here is a web cam from Fishy Fishy Cafe in Southport, NC. We stayed there last spring and will be going there again in early December.

You can see in the parking lot, there is a school bus parked. Water almost up to the top of the tires all ready.

When we were there that body of water was just like a lake, hardly any movement at all. The docks there now and boats are starting to move.

Southport is north of Myrtle Beach by about 60 miles, Southport and Myrtle Beach will be getting a lot of the storm surge as the Center makes land  fall south of Myrtle Beach.

Frank certainly seems like a stand-up guy and is a hero as far as I'm concerned. I did not mean to disparage him in any way & hopefully my post did not come across as such.  My apologies if it did.  I only meant to infer that sometimes nostalgic stories seem to grow in size as time goes on.  We all do it.  I have no issue with you sharing stories he's told you. 🙂

I did not take your comments as being negative. In the future I will be sure not to post anything without verifying .In the past on this thread I have posted about my personal achievements but from now on if I choose to do so it will only be with things that can be substantiated .As an example there have been newspaper and magazine stories about several of my achievements that I would gladly send to any of the people who post on this tread who I e-mail with if they so desired.

The Saga of the ice cube.

A few days ago, I noticed one ice cube on my kitchen floor near the fridge.  Weird since the freezer has no ice maker. I opened the freezer, moved everything around and nope, no other ice cubes. Freezer is on the bottom, so I bent down and saw no switch or "arm" to turn an ice maker feature on/off.

I called Jack and he couldn't figure it out as well.

I called our daughter to ask if she bought and used a bag of ice when she was here.  Nope.

BTW, we moved into this apt., 3 months ago.

Jack met the Maintenance guy in the hallway and asked him to stop by our apt.

Who knew our freezer had an icemaker?  He bent down and showed us where the on/off switch was, very UNnoticable if you're looking for it.  It was in the "on" position.  Maybe when I cleaned the freezer I inadvertently hit the "on" switch.

We left the "on" switch on and the bin quickly filled with ice cubes.  That was my bin for frozen veggie bags.

BUT, the mystery is still.....why was there only one ice cube on the floor and none in the freezer?

Goes to show how exciting my days are.

Lenny, I'm confused.  I don't think HBE4 was posting about your personal achievements but then I have gotten confused in here on more than one occasion.

I enjoyed all your pictures from Mystic.  Andy used to live in Mystic, and his son and family live nearby.  When we visit them we need to broaden our horizons in order to enjoy what the town has to offer. Thanks for sharing.

We love Mystic . In 2011 we met a couple for lunch. The husband of the couple has been posting on this board more than 15 years and was the person who suggested that I start posting on here in lieu of posting on the CM boards.

Happy to hear it was not a serious fracture requiring surgery. Give her my best for her recovery. Thanks for the update!

Lenny, hope you're feeling better.

On Sunday afternoon we were getting read to go to the home of one of my daughters for the traditional holiday dinner when my face became red ,very red actually.Toby took my blood pressure and it was 188/161.She said that could not be accurate because I would be dead.We changed the batteries and took another reading. It was 188/71,still way to high.I am on 3 BP medications normally and have had normal readings 120/70 since being on the meds.We called my daughter to tell her we were not coming.

The husband of one of Toby’s cousins was there. He is with the Rescue Squad of a NY fire dept.He got on the phone and told me to go to the local hospital .Six hours later my BP was 143/67 and I was allowed to go home.

I was feeling better but Wednesday I had a flare up of another medical problem which lasted till this morning.I feel fine now.

I had low expectations for Better Call Saul as spin-offs usually disappoint. But I really liked the character & the actor so I gave it a shot. Took me a awhile to warm up to it as it can be a bit slow-moving at times but by season 2, I was hooked as well.  Love that we get to see a few other of our favorite  Breaking Bad characters in their pre-Breaking Bad lives. Very interesting to see Jimmy McGills slow transformation into Saul Goodman (It'sss Allll Good Man).

Better Call Saul was in my top 10 tv shows of all time.My number 1 is Suits.
