Fascination/Puerto Rico Cruises-Where are you

We are currently booked on the Fascination out of Puerto Rico for October 2020, but since last week, the only 6+ day cruises from PR have been missing. We are waiting for cancellation (which would probably come after final booking), and have been looking at the same cruise for March 2021. Today, the first available booking date out of PR is Sept 2021. I understand the why, but we already have airfare purchased last March - we can cancel, but have to rebook the airfare before March 2021 - Southwest policy - can cancel but must rebook before 1 year from original purchase.

We had planned on paying off the cruise and then moving the amount as a FCC to the March 2021 cruise, and take the OBC offer, if there is one. At this time, I think it's better to just cancel, and wait until 2021 to see what cruises are out there. As it is, our March 2020 cruise was cancelled, and I'm still waiting for gift card refunds, which is what I was going to use to pay off the October cruise.

I really miss cruising, our favorite type of vacation, but think I'll wait until cruising starts again, and then book a cruise.

I don’t know anything about the Puerto Rico cruises but please take a looks at Southwests current policy on Travel Funds expiration dates. Travel funds created within the dates specified are good until Sept 2022.

Thank you - I had called Southwest last week - and they said only flight cancellation funds that expired March 2020 - September 2020 would expire Sept 2022. If I cancelled, the representative said I had to use by March 2021. I just spoke with another representative and as long as the cancellation is done by September 7, the funds would be available through September 2022.

Glad I called them again. Sort-of like talking to Carnival representatives - different answers each time😁

We're booked for Jan. 24 2021, so sad! If they are canceled, I hope they let us know soon.

We are as well! I messaged my PVP.  I’m sure he will say the “capacity” statement. I’m exploring back up options.

Uh oh, we have two cabins booked on the Fascination for January 2021.  That was a rebooking after May 2020 was cancelled.  Not a good sign, for sure.

the DW and I have a May 2021 on the Fascination booked after a May 2020 canceled cruise ourselves. Was lucky the casino offer was still available when we rebooked. 312 days until sailing i can't be postponed again.

My SO’s much-older sister has been on just one other cruise and is “kid on Christmas morning” excited about this cruise.  She is 85, and while she is in great health now and very physically active, how many more delays will she be able to wait for?  We really want that time with her and are quite nervous about disappointing her.  The thought of that cruise helped her get through three months of 100% house confinement in NY.

We're booked on Feb 21st out of PR.   I'm thinking at this point it's probably PR telling Carnival that they won't be sailing from there until Sept 2021.   If it's eventually cancelled, this will be the 4th one we've lost to the virus... ugh.

Looking at the PR restrictions, the cruise ports are closed with no date for re-opening.  All travelers upon entrance need a negative covid test within the past 72 hours to avoid quarantine... facemasks required in public...      Not looking good.

Wondering why Royal and NCL still have their PR departures up.

Fascination and Ecstasy are both circling off the coast of Sri Lanka awaiting orders. I anticipate an announcement shortly that the ships will sadly be retired.

Then why not delete all “Fascination” bookings? Odd that they would keep the ship name on sailings Sept. 2021 and beyond. 🤔

If you watch these boards between this and the victory being scrapped - that a whole bunch of used metal.

Not sure I am buying this statement. I see what you are saying but time will tell. I don’t see them unloading ships to the scrapper at the accelerated rate we are speculating.

I am a realist and covid has changed everything...this may be something else that changes what we thought was not possible.

I agree with you that time will tell.  ALLEGEDLY, RCCL's former Sovereign of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas, and Celebrity's former Horizon are all enroute to the Aliaga, Turkey scrapyard.  Again, time will tell, but the cruise ship carnage that results from this pandemic may surprise us all...either way, it's going to be an interesting next few years.

Relative to the Puerto Rico sailings prior to September 2021, the below was just posted by John Heald...and it doesn't sound good.  Sounds like Carnival is repeating the same verbiage they have used prior to previous cancellations.

I found out today that they’ve already reached capacity so please don’t worry they’re still on course to Cruises schedule. Thanks so much and please let me know if you need anything.

I was on a May Fascination cruise as well that got canceled.  To answer the original post I am just waiting.  I have been on that port intensive cruise ( reason I am going back ) and until I know I am going to St. Lucia this cruisers not booking!.  Good Luck!
