MyVegas Rewards - bit confused

Recommended Posts

I have "points" in MyVegas rewards.  Having booking a cruise last week thought I would try to add $100 onboard credit using the myvegas rewards site.  However, my cruise booking is in fact two separate bookings. therefore I hoped I could do the reward twice. Once for each booking.

I clicked for the first $100 voucher and followed the instructions sending on the information to the email address given.  Not too sure I will get the credit on the account as the cruise also had a bluelight card discount.

However when I try to get the second voucher I'm being blocked as it says I can only do it once even though it stated twice in 180 days.

Am I missing something?

I think there are two separate limits at play here.  One on your overall use of myVegas rewards on Royal Caribbean, that is the two in 180 days.  I believe they also limit you to buying one each of the individual rewards per reward cycle.  I don't think reward cycles are on a regular schedule.  Someone else might know.

You mention that you have two separate bookings.  Are they for two seperate cruise or do you have more than one cabin booked for one cruise?  If it is more than one cabin on a single cruise, you cannot apply rewards from your account as there is also a limit of one reward from person per cruise.

i have two separate cabins but the bookings are under different names (although I pick up the bill for them both!).  As it is I hve been rejected as the cruise is more than 12 months away.  Getting the credit is a bit of a minefield.

It certainly can be.  My wife and I play myVegas for free, so we can't complain when a request for onboard credit is refused.  We've gotten about $1,000 of free onboard credit over the last few years and are always happy when we get some.

If you have an adult that you cruise with, you might consider getting them signed up.

I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS AVAILABLE.  WE JUST PLAYED FOR FUN.  HOW DOES ONE GO ABOUT GETTING ONBOARD CREDIT THROUGH MY VEGAS. COM?

Thanks,

Rewards show up in the rewards tab on the MyVegas app on the phone at the bottom.  Various rewards, mostly in Vegas, but Royal also has some cruise discounts and OBC offers.  Several different apps are part of the program.  Click on the offer and they email you the reward.  Then you contact your travel agent or Royal.  Note that there are strict limits on when the offer is redeemed versus when you book the cruise, so don't book until you check these out for the offer you want.

I am confused about redeeming offers.  When redeeming for % off discount do you book the cruise first and them redeem the rewards or do you have to redeem the reward, send the info to Royal and wait for someone to contact you to do the booking? I have a cruise I want but need an accessible cabin and I am afraid the accessible rooms will all be gone by the time someone gets back to me from Royal.

You must redeem first then call in for the reservation with the certificate number given to you by MyVEGAS.

To the OP, you are limited to 2 redemptions per 180 day periods which is in the T&C when you redeem.

You cannot assign OBC to anyone in a different cabin, it goes only to the player of the MyVEGAS account & their cabin. (Also in the T&C, something about real person associated with the account).

On the plus side, you can cancel purchases with points right in the app and the reward points go back into your account instantly.

Tried to redeem both the $100 OBC and the $100 casino credit recently and was denied the casino credit  Not to sure how the twice in 180 days restriction  worked there unless somewhere there is a restriction of one reward per cruise which I have not noticed.

It says it here

MyVegas rewards are great, if you can meet the narrow requirements/restrictions. I have redeemed the wild card 10% discount, a couple hundred dollars in OBC and several $100 freeplays in Vegas. Pretty great for free.

I've also redeemed loyalty points for a wild card discount I couldn't use (timing window was off by a couple weeks), so I lost those 150,000 loyalty points.

Just carefully read the T&Cs before you redeem and you can't go wrong. Also, take a couple minutes to call the Casino Royale desk (they administer the MyVegas redemptions) if you have any questions.

Just yesterday "purchased" a reward on My Vegas for $100 obc.  Called Casino Royale to book a Nov 21 cruise.  We are C&A, FL residents, seniors and Diamond.  Whatever combo of discounts worked, Myvegas was applied, all no issues.

We have redeemed about $1000 Myvegas with RCL.  Seems to work.

Now we book direct with the casino folks, then move our booking to the big warehouse club to add their benefits too.

Whoa. I didn't think of moving it AFTER it booked. I always thought it was either myvegas OBC or whatever a TA offered.

Thanks for posting this, I probably got a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge sometime in the past and never realized it due to not reading all of the details.

Re: the 150,000 points, send an email explaining what happened and you should(?) be able to get the points returned to your account. I have had points returned for OBC on canceled cruises

Speaking of myVegas rewards, what happens to the reward/points when RCCL cancels a cruise?

MyVegas will credit the redeemed reward/points for a cancelled RCCL back inro to your MyVegas account.

HOLY COW I forgot about MyVegas!  I did this a lot a long time ago for a trip to Vegas and realized I don't need to go back, so I stopped.....

Booked my first cruise with RCL last Sunday for May 2022.....so I look at the rules, and it says "new bookings only" and "must be redeemed by Oct, 5 2021"........

Would that mean that I would have to redeem before I book? And I would have to sail before Oct 5?  If I can make this work, I will be super excited.....

You can try and if not they will refund your points so you have nothing to lose by trying.

That's true, I guess I wish I could interpret what they mean in all their ambiguous wording.....because maybe "redeem" means "attach to a reservation"?  And "new" meaning.....booked when? haha

I saw a $100 OBC I have enough loyalty to use to get it, has anyone seen anything higher recently? (I know rewards are unpredictable and refreshed sporadically)

No those offers have not changed in the 2-3 years I have been playing. They did have a few mega offers at the start of Covid for NCL cruises (through one of the myKONAMI apps) but those were cancelled anyway.

Just an FYI for others, I saw some more explanations on another board, and “new” means within the past 30 days, and “redeemed” means attached to the reservation.  Now I’m wondering if we reprice a cruise from one with the OBC attached through myvegas, will we lose it or be able to move it along with the next one.....I’m assuming lose it.....but doesn’t hurt to ask!
