Several nurses in his pod then tested positive within a few days. M8

Here's what I'm saying: social distancing is not practical on a cruise ship. You can't do it at the pool, or in the elevator lobby, or in the stateroom corridors, some of the most common public areas on the ship. The ship is a confined space. So if cruising is to resume there needs to be testing as part of the plan, and kicking everyone off the ship within seven days to avoid an outbreak. Otherwise, if your theory holds that an outbreak is not only possible but imminent within a week, there is simply no way to restart cruising even with a social distancing policy in place. Other than an ocean view, I can stay home and be isolated from people, wear a mask when I go out, get carryout, enjoy a tropical drink, read a book. No thanks. We haven't run out to a restaurant since they opened. We like to linger and enjoy our meal. Friends of ours have gone out to eat at their favorite place and they said they got to bums rush. I can imagine that the restaurants need to turn the tables even faster now that they are operating at 1/2 capacity. We do take out and drive to the beach when we want to get out. I really am enjoying that. I don't know why we never thought of doing that before. I can't imagine paying money for a cruise with the new normal. It sounds like work to me.

Also, can you visit several different countries while at home? I can't. I also enjoy seeing the shows, and visiting the casino. They might be run differently, but I didn't see where those would be eliminated. Did you? Casino? Limit 10 people for 30 min max? 3 shows rather than 2, but for 30 minutes each. Assigned lounge chairs by appointment only. 6 ft social distancing on open decks will make walkers happy I suppose. These MIGHT be apart of cruising going forward. Oh, and only a private few ports if Americans on board. No thanks. Either cruising as we remember it returns, or we won't. You just have to look at what happened in the U.K. at pubs over the weekend when they opened up. I don’t consider social distancing achievable with drink packages We only have to look as far as the United States to see that it isn't working. New Jersey and New York are now seeing an increase in cases since bars and restaurants have opened.

Etta1213 Posted July 8, 2020 #97 Share Posted July 8, 2020 Maybe folks especially vulnerable will just choose to continue being very cautious about getting out. Others will be out there, but hopefully avoid contact with, for example, frail grandparents. Herd immunity will result eventually. There are now such huge numbers of tests being done that, of course, positives will show up. If herd immunity is the goal, then positives aren't in and of themselves a bad thing. M8 So why go for Royal Carribean? if you'd pay more for the exclusivity why not choose to go with a more exclusive cruise line so you get "your perfect holiday all the time" Royal Carribean are a very social cruise line with lots of social interaction which i love and why my family and I choose to go on Royal or Norweigan Cruise because being social meeting new people and new adventures and actually HAVING FUN. However on saying this that was the "old norm" when cruising was good however with all the "new norm" information that looking likely to be in place - no windjammer buffet, shows with lack of audience (eh what the heck), social distancing, and i obviously have to mention mask wearing, dont know what happening about the swimming pool areas to mention a few i have to say my family and i will be not be cruising and I guess from many other people's posts you will get your wish of lower occupancy, so i will you a happy vacation. So does that mean cruising is finished because i can't see crusie lines still being here if this goes on much longer cos they will all be bankrupt
