Anyone confirm Equinox from Ft. Lauderdale?

I read somewhere yesterday evening that CDC just approved Equinox sailing from Ft. Lauderdale. Has anyone else seen this news, please?

I haven't seen it but would love that to be true....we have three B2B booked starting July 4.  We've been taking it one day at a time and hoping that the  "check-in unavailable" notice will go away.

Thank you for the source! I'm interested to see how Celebrity handles this. A lot of people on the boards are saying that Equinox is not crewed up fully yet. They'll likely still have to cancel some of the first Equinox sailings since the first scheduled sailing is a month away.

The initial Edge announcements had a very tiny line at the bottom that Equinox was scheduled to resume on July 18.

Also keep in mind that until the Port Agreements were finalized not that long ago, they were restricted to embarking 50% of crew they were expected to need for the first restricted sailing. So really they haven't had all that much time especially if Equinox does resume a few weeks later than Edge.

Trying to do the math in my head, if the person was already vaccinated, or got J and J, there is plenty of time to serve out quarantine and be ready to go.

We are anxious, sailing Aug 1, and would change to the Edge if she sails and Equinox doesn't, but the timing with Edge is a work problem, so we want to stay on Equinox if at all possible. These next couple of weeks are going slow.

Captain Kate also showed them doing some ship to ship transfers. They had 600+ in quarantine on Edge but that doesn't mean all of them will necessarily work that ship. It's all a huge game of chess at this point.

I went on the Celebrity website and the first sailing it was letting me book was July 25th but now I see others earlier than that.

We have B2B sailings on July 4 and 11 so fingers crossed but agree this is not likely.

If you're set on going, the Edge is going on really similar itineraries and just leave a day earlier than Equinox. We switched from the Equinox on the 11th. You will just potentially loose the extra 25% FCC (or cash refund) when they do cancel.

hmmm these are both booked through the Blue Chip club - I wonder if they would let us switch - will call them today thanks!

If you want peace of mind, it's the best thing to do. Of course, Edge is not 100% guaranteed but it was a huge relief for me to just be done with the Equinox.

Would be interested if casino let’s you switch to Edge.  I’m also on July 11 sailing in Equinox..... I called casino yesterday to ask about switching to Edge and he said I could not switch to Edge....but could switch to a later sailing on Equinox.

 

im still worrying about what to do.... air and hotels have been booked for a year and prices have gone up quite a bit .......arggggggg!
