Second person half price?

I was just checking a cruise for March, 2022 and saw that the second person fare was half the first person (and the first person was on a 20% discounted casino fare.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is it casino related?

Seems like we got an email about that promo yesterday.  I believe it was for 4 and 5 star Mariners.

THANKS!  Now I know.  Funny though, we are 5 Star and neither of us got this email.

When you check prices be sure to log in.  The computer will show half price for #2 in stateroom.  If you use HAL insurance it will be based on the lesser fare for #2.  I booked my favorite stateroom today and added Club Orange.  I don’t get Casino offers.  I did get the e-mail and can cruise without flying to get to the port.  I called my PC to book, I’m afraid to book online!

My questions are:

Is 50% off what rate?  Full Published Fare? or an already discounted Mariner price?

I would think it would make a difference. 🙂

Bottom line what does the SMALL print say?

In my case it was 50% off the discounted casino rate.

Thanks for sharing.....

We are 3 stars and we get nothing.  If that is for real, that's an incentive that will get us back on our 3rd cruise since the unpleasantness.....Even if it means the Caribbean with a test & mask.

I had to sign up with another email address to finally get the "private sale" emails.  We never seem to get anything except the email with our 5th boarding time change...as if it matters.

Merry Christmas to all!

Sounds like a good deal, if you had planed on booking a cruise any way, this should sweeten the offer. Which I think is what HAL has in mind to get people back on ships.

We have a cruise already booked, but were thinking of adding add another one, either before or after, due to the good pricing.  After all, no extra airfare this way!

When you booked, did it include the  “Have it all” package?

You have  a choice with or without.  I booked without.  I guess if you booked with HIA you would also be getting the HIA part of the reduced fare half price.

Dave said no and I didn’t explore that option so ???? try it.  My PCC didn’t suggest the HIA option but I did add Club Orange so I was able to choose my veranda stateroom at the guarantee rate,

No - it would not work with that option.  Only the Private Fare option.

Thanks. Makes sense, since the “Have it all” fine print says it’s not combinable with other discounts. I think the half fare for person #2 is a winner, especially if you are in a higher price category.

Which ship are you on, how long is th cruise and how much was Club Orange.  I am thinking of doing the same thing on a sort of back to back for 10 days on the Zuiderdam.
