not really 🤫

Maybe you think so, but it was right on.  It really annoys me when people start a thread and ask a question they need help with, then give no info to help out.  We are not mind readers.  In your case, too busy to read the best thread ever where many things have been well explained and questions answered.

I hope the Happy New Year soon emerges for you.

so we saw the New Years in in our new quarantined room, since we have been in this room, I have been so frustrated, ive connected with neighbours, which I call our balcony clan, Parkerson who started this is our neighbour, its been really hard to get any kind of food, I call room service and it takes forever, and often times out and they hang up, no one is checking on us, i have had to call guest services several times to ask for them to contact room service, last night I called room service about 11 pm and put my order in for today so i tried to plan ahead so i wasn't on hold for ever, it also never comes correctly, I ordered breakfast cereal and they didn't send bowls, i ordered a burger, and half the bun was missing, I ordered water with lunch and it didn't arrive.......i've also had issues which is very stressful, on their plans to get us off the ship and into a hotel for quarantine and then get us home....that is still in progress and I will let you all know what happens with that, at this moment I am trying to get my husband a PCR test to get home, he is booked to have a PCR test tomorrow morning 9.30 port side and their cost, if he tests negative he can fly home on his Tues morning flight back to DTW, pick up the car and drive home....I have to quarantine in FLL, they are booking my hotel I have to organize my flight home, they will pay, I just have to claim it back, but my issue is I have to fly home to Canada now because no one can drive me across the border home....as hubby is not allowed to drive across the border to pick me up....right I will read up on some posts and see if anymore info comes to mind...

I am so sorry for your experience. Thank you for sharing. Other than being stressed and frustrated how are you doing health wise?

Just read on X Captain Club Facebook page reports of people who are supposed to be in quarantine actually walking around the ship,,,younger people who are actually bragging about it,,some even bragging they ate in the MDR whilst waiting the result of tests.

Guest Relations say they can’t force them to stay in cabins….people saying they are feeling sorry for crew that are trying to get them to isolate.

What chance do you have with idiots like these around us.

If this is the case then X needs to remove them from the ship at the next port and ban them for life.

I suspect that as the numbers grow their ability to service the quarantined becomes more challenging. So while they might have had a departure plan when they had a few dozen... as the number grow..planning or that I am sure has become more complicated......who has to quarantine, who can just go home... etc. How many hazmat suites do they have to escort many off the ship... must be a logistical nightmare. I hope everyone ends up with mild illnesses and can someday say with humor ...do you remember the time when...  I wish all the sick and their families a safe journey home. There were risks sailing during a pandemic and unfortunately you drew the short straw. I lucked out in Mar '20 and in my Dec '21 sailing... managing to get through the trip just before all hell broke loose...which is why I am wondering about Feb...do I really want to risk it yet again. If we do...I will be bringing lots of books... too bad no one will want them after I finish..should I get it.

Thank you to all those reporting their experience being quarantined. I'm a little disappointed to hear how you're being treated.  Aren't these ships sailing at reduced capacity?  I would have thought they'd have the manpower to do more for you (and without long waits) but I'm guessing maybe there are a lot more people in quarantine than we realize.

We're due to sail in 2 weeks and after reading this thread and those on Facebook's Celebrity Captains Club, I think we're going to have to cancel.

I hope you all have a speedy recovery and a safe trip home.

feel sorry for you........unfortunately this is getting a bit like Russian Roulette....you either get hit or you don't.....we all need to take your comments into consideration as I for one would not want to spend a number of days cooped up in a cabin

I don’t believe the ships are at full crew staffing as they haven’t been sailing full passenger capacity

Seems that with the number of passengers testing positive that the crew is also being hit by quarantines, particularly in the staff that is in constant contact with guests, waiters, bar staff, guest services, cabin stewards.  One passenger posted that they were on their 3rd Butler.

That's possible. But I've also read reports where the staff have been "falling all over" guests in an effort to keep busy. I guess it depends on the ship...and I'm sure it's changing by the moment.  I think the breakouts are much more wide-spread than we think.

It seems like you've had symptoms for about 3 days, do you like you're getting any better?

I just told my neighbors that I feel a bit better this evening. My first day was the worse, so looking back at that, I am better. This annoying cough and runny nose though. 😡

You should ask them to bring some honey to go with your scotch 😉

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your reporting on this issue.  I always ready Cruise
Critic for Celebrity but this issue to so important and your info is valuable.

We had an incident a few years ago where our ship(Celebrity) tore away from a port and we were stranded in high winds and rain and had no info at al from the ship.   You have been wonderful with your comments.

Thank you. We all wish you well.

We have a cruise in February but took to heart your comment about not cruising until the Covid is over.

Our best to all.

Good morning.

I don’t know since we’re driving. The couple next door are sweating it and trying to get answers. They are from Canada, so there are several potential road blocks for them. If I find out anything, I’ll post an update.

Hope you’re feeling better each day and glad your wife is still Negative.  And thanks for sharing your experience and answering all these questions.  I’m from Canada too and would like to hear what you learn about your Canadian neighbours and how Celebrity will get them home.
Our February cruise is looking quite questionable right now.

They’re getting conflicting info. I’ll let Mojo65 jump in and provide what she knows.

Thank you also to Mojo65, dollyd and Barb1403 for your comments.  I hope you all recover quickly too.

Will add my thanks and wishes for a full recovery for all 4 of you.  And also hoping they are able to provide information soon on disembarkation to put all of your minds at ease.  Hang in there!

I am in isolation as well (6299) and I have heard nothing since they left me here at 11:45 pm on 12/30.  I called about luggage tags today (1/2) and was told someone would be contacting me.

Sorry to hear you’ve got Covid too.  Are you isolated by yourself or is your spouse with you?  Were you sick or was it contact tracing?  Wish you well.

Wow….I don’t know where to start!   First, you are providing such valuable information to so many of us that have upcoming cruises.  We were set to sail on the Silhouette on January 14 and were thinking of canceling…..will definitely cancel!  For those of you who have tested positive, your health and well being are paramount.  It sounds like the health part is ok…..the unknown is not helping the “well being” part. My wish for you all is good health and a stress free end to your nightmare. Thank you again for your information….you’ll never know how many people you have helped! ❤️❤️

Great job Parkerson! Thanks for this thread. I think this is the first time I've read EVERY post from beginning to the end on a 6+ page thread! LOL!  I appreciate your positive, upbeat, direct responses and your sense of humour.

We are struggling with a go/no go decision for our January 30th sailing on Equinox. This is helping me in the decision process.

Best wishes to you and your wife as you convalesce!

From one fellow Canadian to another … Have you made a decision?  😆

Many people seem to be talking about symptoms subsiding by day 5, I'm hoping it doesn't last any longer than that for you
