How many ships in each port

Or Google search for "Port ship schedule"..."Rome ship schedule", for example. The aggregator sites are less than accurate...the individual port websites are typically more accurate.

The number of ships in port have never affected our cruise in any way.

I take it you have never called at a smaller Caribbean port - or looked for local transportation at Civita Vecchia or Piraeus.

Well...22 cruises, over 300 days on ships, yes, have been to all of those types of places. In town at Civi, we walked. Going out of town we had private transport arranged. St Thomas we either walked, or used a cab. We know what/where the busy ports are, and still do what we wish. We just don't focus on it.

However, you seem not to notice that when a port is overloaded with thousands of cruisers.  And, that cab at St. Thomas is both harder to get, and likely more expensive, on busy days.

And you seem not to notice that it's not our highest priority. There will be crowds...we don't put it above us doing what we intend to do.

Disneyland is going to be busy. It's a fact of life. If you are going to be there, other people are going to be there.

We once had 3 ships in Corfu. Because there were 2 docks, one ship had to use tenders, and it was the one we were on. Also, the seas were a little rough causing one passenger on our tender to fall directly on one of his elbows while boarding the tender.

I get why you would want to know. There can be scenarios where it is beneficial especially some really really tiny places. Like St Maarten can get fairly backed up if it has too many ships. Places like Nassau and Cozumel can have 6 ships and most people would never know if they didn't see the ships.

By and large, this is just more people concerning themselves with more things that aren't important. Stressing out because large ports have a few ships. Trying to make something of nothing.

(Especially in this limited capacity environment) very few ports are overrun with cruisers. The schedules are also subject to change. Some ships change their itinerary schedule, some miss a port, some add a different port.

Come on guys/gals, the OP asked a simple question and there are a few real answers other than "search."  There are a few sites that have good port info but our favorite go to site is cruisemapper.com.   You can not only pull up what ships are scheduled to be in any port on any day but that site has some decent information on each of the ports.   I would only caution that because of all the cancellations and itinerary changes the info on that site is no longer 100% correct.

Cruisetimetables.com is one source, although not 1005 accurate.

There are also some ports that have official port websites that you can find by searching on the internet.

X2.  Seems we have always been able to get scheduling info from the individual port websites.  We have used those sites to determine where our ship is to be docked for those places that have more than one cruise ship pier/terminal.

Thank you for the replies. Cruisetimetables.com was just what I was looking for!

It is a good idea to back it up with a scan of the site maintained by each port, as part of your preparation ---- possibly going so far as to check on the itinerary for each ship shown as being in your scheduled ports on the scheduled dates.  This would also give you an idea of the head count.

If it isn't too late, for a number of years we have used both cruisemapper and whatsinport, the latter a particular favourite as there is info on facilities at the port, transport options, sightseeing suggestions and more.  Sometimes the port schedule connects through to the actual port official website, other times there are ships listed.  IMHO it is worth checking two sites as there are sometimes differences between the two.
