Shareholder OBC benefit

I faxed in my request to HAL yesterday for shareholder OBC to be applied to my July cruise. Can someone tell me when and how my request will it be acknowledged? Thanks.

I mailed my request on 4/11. Since I hadn’t heard anything I called this morning and was advised my credit had been applied this morning and that I had been sent an e-mail. Still no e-mail but I have reason to believe HAL is having technical issues ….. again. Bottom line they are running  10 - 12 days before application of OBC.

With HAL being so generous lately with free cabin casino offers, I thought I would mention that if you bokk with one of these you do not get the stockholder credit (I know, I tried and was rejected)..  I did get it on a cruse where I was booked under a casino discount rate (20% off).

Mine took weeks for my March cruise.  If you get it in a couple days consider yourself lucky.  They did mine incorrectly so it was another wait.  It was a back to back and I only got $200 even though I instructed them that it was 14 days total and it should be $250.

I believe mine took about 10 days after I emailed it. I send the documents at the beginning of March.

We emailed ours Feb. 23rd and received approval via email March 9th (2 weeks) for our May cruise.  The notification says "It will be credited to your onboard account upon embarkation."  I signed into my Holland account and it is not noted there so I have printed out the confirmation and will be taking a copy with us just in case.

It didn't show up in my onboard acct. until a couple of days before the cruise.

If your TA prints out a new confirmation (for example if you make a payment or just ask), then one person will show more OBC than before. That's the only place I've been able to see it.

Not lately.  HAL is behind.  New people at World Cruise Reservations and even though they were instructed - some have neglected to email. (The joys of laying off/retiring people and restarts).

 

I called on mine as I didn’t have an email and it had been applied - took about 3 weeks.  Told to take my statement with me “in case’ and my TA sent me the new confirmations showing the OBC has been applied.

I applied for the shareholder credit on 4/11 and received an email confirmation this morning, 4/20, that it was done.  I always put verbiage in the request email to have a confirmation sent, and HAL just replies to that message.

 

Now as to my refund for a HAL cancelled Volendam cruise from 4/1, there's still been no word.

We emailed a request on 11/14 for a December cruise and got confirmation of the credit on 11/24.

I emailed for Shareholder OBC morning of April 12 for October 2022 cruise. Received confirmation email evening of April 20th. Also received email of updated statement reflecting the addition of OBC.

The fax is not the optimal way at this time.  Try again with email.  I have been getting responses no more than 48 hours after email submittal

Might be quicker if you snail mail them the document on a 5 1/4 floppy.  😉

As an update, our refund showed up on our account as of 4/19.  It took just under 3 weeks which is not too bad considering.

UPDATE: I received confirmation of the OBC from HAL late yesterday. So, it was a total of nine days from fax submission until I got the credit.

I emailed on 3/29 and was notified yesterday, exactly 1 month later, that my credit was applied.  They also included the new booking confirmation which appears it was meant for my TA as it shows what their commission was.

Many thanks for the information here. My upcoming cruise in December is the first time I have been able to take advantage of this benefit. I emailed Monday and received it today, Friday.  I see it will be applied when I embark, I was hoping to book an extra excursion ( as a special treat)  now with it. Are you not able to use it until you get on board?  I will take my paperwork incase it doesn't show.
