We could have but we just did the cash back. The worst part for us was that we had gotten a Black Friday deal on Coco Cay, and are unlikely to see it that cheap when we book another cruise.

Enjoying your pictures!

Thanks, hope we make Coco Cay, last two times weather was nasty so we ended up in Nassau

We will be on the Allure in July 9th. It will be 4 of us in connecting cabins. Myself husband and 2 teen daughters. We are flying in a day early too. And flying back a day after the cruise ends. Looking forward to your review. How crowded is it? What is the Windjammer? Can you post some pictures of the pool and pool area? The last time I criused was in 2005. Thanks.

Elizabeth

Windjammer is the buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pool deck was crowded because it’s a sea day, plus it’s hot and sunny

First time ever I decided to go to MDR for lunch, it was nice! My waitress was from Ukraine and I had a chance to talk with her for awhile. I’m not a huge lunch eater but with having the drink package I need to fill up so I can fill up some more with beverages. The wedge salad was good and so was the steak, truffle fries were soggy. I’ll go again!

So far today I’ve had a Corona, Heineken, Miami Vice and Long Island Ice Tea. Let me tell ya, I watched Alejandro pour that liquor and then top of off with a drop of Coke and sour mix 😝. That’s actually a great drink to order if you don’t have the package, you really get the bang for your buck. I have been drinking tons of water and mostly just finish about half my cocktails so feeling fine but will be detoxing next week.

Going to a slot pull at casino at 3:30, never done that before so looking forward to it. Come on big money 💰

If you like Miami Vice, try a Lava Flow. It's a pina colada with strawberry puree running through it like lava rather than just mixed with a strawberry daiquiri. I've also been told to try it with Kraken rum instead of whatever they normally use.

No plans to sail solo anytime soon but as an introvert I'm enjoying your live report!

I am enjoying following along, since we were just on Allure in April.  What a great ship, and what a great time we had onboard!   Mama Mia was awesome, and the Aqua Aria amazing!  Have a great time!!  BTW, since you have the drink package..may I suggest you try a Kracken Colada while you sit by the pool or Solarium?  It's wonderful!

All I heard was a “technical issue” but captain did keep announcing every few minutes that there were over 500 passengers who didn’t complete muster. If that’s the case I’m sure he would have said “buh bye” and sailed away

Actually, no he cannot.  He cannot get Coast Guard clearance to sail until all passengers onboard attend the muster drill.  Not a good situation if 500 passengers just ignored the muster drill instructions.  That may influence them to go back to physical muster briefings vs virtual & quick check in.  I would hate for that to happen,

p.s. I agree 100% with you on the Long Island Iced Tea.  I love them.

Just got back from an organized slot pull party, it was fun! We all contributed 20 bucks and after lots of hollering and crossed fingers, we walked away with $23 each. I’m not a casino gal so I just yelled and clapped when everyone else did 😝. Now for a shower to wash away the smoke smell and then people watching as it’s formal night.

Ask for a Green Tea, or Tokyo Tea. They swap the coke for Midori. Quite tasty and very pretty

Enjoy your cruise.  I'm also a solo passenger, but for a sadly different reason.

Sailed on Allure 8 niter on January 22 and it was wonderful as the ship was only 40% of capacity.  The port is about 10 minutes from the airport and taxi at that time cost $20 with grats.

It took longer for them to place the white band indicating that I was vaxxed than the actual check-in.  It took no more than 15 minutes to board and went directly to CP Cafe and had a couple of Royal's roast beef sandwiches.😄

Because of the pandemic, the vaxxxed were separated from the unvaxxed in both the MDR & the theater.   For some ungodly reason even though I chose traditional dining at 5:30, I was assigned MTD which started at 6:30-6:45.  I was seated a table for 2 (social distancing, at that time, would not allow to sit with others at a large table) on the 3rd deck to the right as you enter the MDR.

Although I was sitting alone, there were some 6-7 tables for 2s in that area and met some wonderful tablemates.  Not much separation between tables.  Even met a couple of Pinns that had the audacity to mingle with a simple D+.😊

Being solo, got faster service with my meals and completed in approximately an hour.  This allowed me the flexibility to spend time in the casino and attend any functions around the ship.

Entertainment was excellent overall.  We had magicians, singer and dancers, etc.  This was my 3rd sail on Allure and Mamma Mia, the play is a must.  No reservations required.  No problem in getting prime seats in the theatre due to the lower capacity.

When I sail on the Oasis class, I select a CP balcony cabin.  My cabin was on the 12th deck and convenient to the Diamond lounge.  On many days, I enjoy watching Paxs strolling thru Central Park and listening to the afternoon music emanating from the pool deck.  The only hiccup is that on occasions you must remember to close the shades.😁

Hope you enjoy your cruise as much as I did and looking forward to your review.

PS.  I really really liked this sail, especially in that I earned quadruple nights/points.😉

I’m so sorry for your loss. I think I’m earning double points (and pounds) for this cruise. I chatted with a nice man who wore all his pins proudly and this was his first cruise without his spouse of 55 years.

Had a great night, not so spectacular dinner at Windjammer. We used to love all the selections but seems that choices have really been limited and only half of area is open. Kind of sad when best so far has been mashed potatoes and gravy. Tonight was formal night so I thoroughly enjoyed people watching and wow, lots of glitz and glamour and even some tuxedos. Then off to Aqua Theater for the show, seen it twice before and never disappoints!

After the show I ordered one of my faves, cucumber jalapeño margarita and walked around enjoying the sights. Tomorrow I’ll try the avocado 🥑 margarita, should I? Why the hell not, drink package 😁. Any other suggestions?
Here’s the fun part, ended up at Schooner and ran into two fun guys from the slot pull and they invited me to join them for dinner at MDR with their group of friends tomorrow. Gotta tell you, that made my day as I felt very welcomed so looking forward to that! Ended my evening in my favorite place…chirp, chirp Central Park.
Costa Maya tomorrow

That’s wonderful! We’ve talked about doing back to back to back once he retires. Great that he’s able to join you!

Now I wished he hadn’t been able to. I tested positive for covid and will get moved to a covid room in the morning. I’m hoping he doesn’t get it. I’ve spent about 102 days on ships since September and it finally caught up with me. 😩 🤕

OH NO Renee! That's terrible news. I guess you will have the definitive word on the soup containers. :classic_sad:
