Question for any of you who have been to Coco Cat, what and where should I eat?

Coco 😺? Sorry, couldn't help it.

Go to one of the snack shacks listed on the app as serving the chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks. Order both. Put the mozz sticks and marinara sauce on top of the chicken... amazing chicken parm sandwich. Then eat as many funnel cakes from the same snack shack as you can.

We're doing a B2B 3 and 4-night on Independence in July for various reasons (price, dislike of this summer's Harmony itineraries at PC, our home port, etc.). Since we didn't love the itineraries/prices and are already going on Harmony on 5/29, I had the idea to create the above 7-nighter so we could stop at Cococay twice. We really do enjoy it there and I'd be lying if I said the food wasn't a part of it. 🙈

I got stood up! Waited about half hour and no one showed up, unfortunately I didn’t have contact info. I’m thinking that maybe too much fun in Costa Maya but oh well. Walked around Windjammer and food selections didn’t appeal to me. Then I was turned down at Sabor because I didn’t have reservations even though the place was 3/4 empty😡. I decided to treat myself to tapas at Vintages and it was delicious. Started talking to only other couple in there and we ended up having a great conversation for almost two hours. After that I walked around ship. Found Richard Branson and stalked him 😬, followed him into the shop, figured he’d offer to buy me a Brietling or at least a Rolex or two, hell or the entire inventory 😏

Finished my evening on the balcony enjoying my leftovers

At the very least, Richard Branson should have offered you a free cruise on one of his ships!!!

Enjoying your review.

Would you be able to post the current internet rates for surf and stream?  Which are you using to post all the pics? Just booked a cruise and trying to decide what will be best and apx. cost.

Thanks in advance.

I wiall. I purchased the Ultimate Beverage+Voom package about a month before the cruise and I believe it was around $79 a day? I suggest buying any packages before you actually board because the cost is higher. I’ve been lucky, haven’t had any problems connecting so far.

My waitress was from Ukraine and I had a chance to talk with her for awhile.

speaking of which....

Are there a lot of Ukrainian crew members? Do they need anything besides additional cash tips if they mention anything?

Snack Shack's funnel cakes are a must! We had 2 each. We also loved the chicken sandwiches and mozzarella sticks. Cold grilled veggies were also good.

Enjoy!

Hint: if you want more of a still water - South beach or the Breezy Bay of the Chill island.

So far I only met one. I will go tomorrow to MDR for lunch and see her, I know she has family in the US but I’ll ask. I really appreciate you asking ❤️

I forgot to grab my phone, did a great snorkeling excursion and really enjoyed it, hot hot day and since I didn’t wear my contacts the fish I saw were fuzzy but pretty. My snorkeling buddy told me I got close to a stingray but with me being blind I didn’t see it which is a good thing because I probably would have started hyperventilating. We were on a catamaran and got a nice tour of Cozumel as well, tour guides were very entertaining. Remember the days of them having a cooler full of margaritas or rum runners and they’d basically dunk your cups in there? No more, thank goodness! We did have bottle water, pop or beer. Got back to ship and took a much needed shower and power nap. My buddy promised to send me some pics so we’ll see.

About the time you think you have learned everything there is to know about RCCL you learn there are funnel cakes on Cococay! Whoot! 😋

Dinner tonight was Izumi, I’m getting comfortable eating with me, myself and I and didn’t have any close table mates to chat with since it wasn’t busy. Ordered the shrimp wonton soup (not much flavor) and spicy tuna roll which was delicious. Saw several people come in for carryout, how did I not know this? Great idea if you want to eat on your balcony! After dinner I grabbed a glass of wine and headed to theater for Mama Mia. All I can say is Wow, what a fantastic show and just as good as any I’ve seen on Broadway. Guess this is the last performance for this cast of terrific performers who’ve been on the ship for nine months. After I walked around a bit and back to my room, guess all that fun in the sun wore me out. Tomorrow is a sea day and then last 🥲 day is Coco Cay. Good night 😴

I haven’t had a funnel cake in at least 20 years, I’ll be trying one. I feel my waistline expanding but what the hell, two more days and then back to grocery shopping and cooking 😛

Thanks for the info, keep hearing about this chicken sandwich so gotta try one with another suggestion, mozzarella sticks pressed into sandwich.  Will make my way to Breezy Bay for sure, head we are the only ship that day

Oh yeah, definitely! I think it’s been at least that long for me.  But it’s a cruise, there are no rules or calories 😂  Eat one for me!

if you want to snorkel some more, there was a ton of colorful fish right behind the rocks in the first beach section of the Chill island:

20211127_113351.thumb.jpg.fd811646d91b30dd68886191ff1be8f4.jpg20211127_113356.thumb.jpg.f68782995478aa95348287fa93376964.jpg

but it was extremely crowded (2 ships in port) and very windy and cold, so we moved to the Breezy bay area - next to the day beds and the Snack Shack. The water was shallow and still, and there was no wind. We loved it. We fed some fish in the water with hot dog and hamburger buns.

I may have missed it, but do you know what the price of the Surf & Stream internet is if purchased onboard?  I know you said you purchased it before the cruise because it was less expensive.

I have a Prime discount and am trying to see if the online price is better than using that discount onboard.  I am enjoying your review.  Thanks so much.

I’ve been lazy with my review so here’s my day so far. Kind of a chilly, cloudy and extremely windy beginning so I parked my stuff at Solarium and got some breakfast at Solarium cafe. Kept it kind of light since I’m not a huge breakfast eater. Captain announced that tomorrow’s weather for Coco Cay looks good so third times the charm 🫰. Started a new book, Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and met some nice people from Michigan at pool. Lunch was Park Cafe, enjoyed the salad. Heard that capacity for this sailing is 5700 and being a sea day, pool deck was crowded.

Thanks, always looking for suggestions. Finished Fly Away, second part of Firefly Lane, most of it was so depressing
