Upgrade to a YC INSIDE from Bella Balcony?

I still am wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to a YC INSIDE at $800/person from our BB. With our BB, we have $300 OBC, 2 Easy Plus BP, & 2 Internet pkgs.
What would I really gain going into YC?
1. Not worried about INSIDE since we never stay in our cabin. Love to visit with people.
2. Diamond members and know MSC food, entertainment, service, etc.
3. What would YC provide additionally to b what I have described already?
 B2B in July.
TIA

Nothing really.

A Butler...big deal.

Private restaurant....for $1600 you could eat at specialty every night.

You loose a balcony. Using it or not it's still nice.

Private pool...it's still water.

Private lounge....it's usually empty.

Take another cruise with the money saved

Thank you very much for your honest reply. I thought the same thing.

We really would not use a Butler. Don't sit in the sun or use the pool.

However, never stayed in YC and was just curious if I was missing something when I read the YC perks. I always respect and appreciate some ones advise especially if they experienced it. I guess I was just fishing trying to find some value to pay an additional $1,600.

Again, Thank You!

Hi, Shirley:  I think it all comes down to personal preference.  Since we have pretty much switched the bulk of our business to MSC, we have always done YC, and wouldn't go back.  Again, it is based on our preferences.  My DW is a sun worshiper, but a late riser.  For her, having her chaise or cabana already prepared and reserved for is a priceless perk.  With a bout of cancer I went through a few years ago, being able to meet with the maitre d' and chef and plan meals for our week or two on board to meet my dietary needs is my priceless perk.  We both appreciate the attentive and caring service, the actual follow-up on promises, and the honest request to do anything to help.  I enjoy being on the ship early and staying a bit late to maximize my downtime.  The premium drinks are nice, but the Plus package is not all that important for me.  DW, on the other hand, requires the better wines available through YC and she loves the attention by the sommelier.

In a class other than YC, I think we would survive.  You won't starve, you'll have plenty of drink options (and plenty of places to eat and drink).  It's just not something we need or have to do at this stage of our lives.  I know that I would never bid for an upgrade.  To my mind, I made a decision to buy a package or product at what I thought was a reasonable price. I wouldn't want to second guess myself, or have buyer's remorse.

The service level is what makes the Yacht Club special.  I love having the private restaurant and the butler and concierge to handle anything for you. You do get unlimited use of the thermal area and someone to escort you off the ship at ports.   If your cruise includes Ocean Cay, you get the private YC area.   Very nice.   The beach area in the water is a bit rocky but the service and the food is great.

For me if it was $1,600 to get a balcony YC room but $1,600 for an inside I'm not sold.

Thank you for your advise.  I can see where YC is very advantages to you. I would not require some of the services YC provides. Now I will take this information and use it to determine my final decision.
Thank you all again.

I am not sure but you might lose your OBC if you upgrade.  If you did that would be an added cost

I was in similar situation as you. We had a guaranteed Bella balcony. Received the upgrade offer and blew it off for weeks. They keep sending the email at least weekly. As we got closer to the cruise the offer minimum and maximum amounts decreased. The minimum for upgrade to YC deluxe balcony was just under $900 pp. Debated and then ended up offering on the higher end closer to the max after researching pricing, posting here and watching YouTube videos. For the 4 of us we wanted a bigger bathroom and bit more space. All the other things where perks since we had the beverage package also. We don't often cruise MSC granted this will be our 3rd time figured why not try it. They didn't accept the bid until almost a week out. I'd be happy to post my feedback after the cruise next week.

Hope that helps!

We are currently onboard Virtuosa in YC for the second time. Yes, the list of perks that others have mentioned are lovely but you could pay separately for many of those and just have the ones you want.

However to me it's something more than that, it's the feeling you get when you go through the YC door onboard. I'd forgotten it until we boarded on Friday, it's a calmness, serenity, even the smell is different, it just feels like all is good. As the cruise goes on, it's all the little touches that are not listed anywhere but just happen. For sailaway we had waiters on the YC deck offering a tray of hot chocolate and behind them a butler with brandy in one hand and Baileys in the other topping up the cups. Yesterday it was mulled wine being passed out. Things that surprise you like this everyday.

I know that for some people this would be a waste of time, I think of my own family and friends and know that some would love it and some hate it and that is fine, we are all different.

I may not have worded it very well but I'm sure others who enjoy YC will understand what I'm trying to say, if you think you might like it give it a try.

The upgrade seems high if for a seven day, and as said, you could do Specialty.  As I've said several times, the YIN shower is literally coffin sized so that may play into decision plus rest of bathroom dinky.  We've sailed in the cheapest insides on other ships and they were bigger.  The room is nicely furnished though.

Permit me to disagree, you have written our own thoughts re YC much better than I could have expressed it. The experience is waaaay greater than the sum of all the constituent parts of the YC, absolutely no doubt.

That said, I don't think the OP is getting a fair deal if paying $1600 more and losing $300 OBC for a YIN cabin.....deluxe suite, yes. Even as a YC fan, I'd struggle to justify that amount for a YIN!

Thank you very much for being honest and providing your respected/welcomed opinion. Based on all info I received from all who provided their opinion, we decided to keep our BB. We felt $1,600 could get us another 7 day cruise.

Oh, the Yacht Club Bed is to die -for, best sleep ever and we have cruised most cruise lines.

I know now I will never go YC! Surely don't want to die in my cabin. LOL

What is the bed brand and model?

Google it and buy one  when you get home.

The beds are Dorelan they are an Italy Bed Company.  They do have a USA site and a store in Miami.  I have been researching the bed as it is one of the best beds I have slept on.  I am trying to find what bed on their website is equal to the YC bed.  I have an email out to them.  I did see the Swiss/Italy website but since I'm in the US doesn't work.
