tallnthensome Posted June 2, 2022 #26 Share Posted June 2, 2022 I would suspect if you were actually wearing a mask outside on a moving cruise ship people were watching you more than you were watching them probably but to each their own I suppose. Some people do the deck parties, the sail away parties, the night club, the old hairy chest competitions, etc. That's definitely not my idea of a holiday. Some people read a book on their balcony in peace and listen to the ocean. That's me. We can all have fun. 13

I attended one show in the main theater, sitting waaaaay in the back away from anybody else (theater was maybe one-third full). I spent the vast majority of my time on my beloved bowling-alley balcony, as well as people-watching on the open decks. I had a wonderful vacation. Again, it wasn't like pre-Covid at all, but it was a perfectly delightful, relaxing getaway. ♥️ If I had that balcony, I would have spent most of my time out there too. 🙂 Edited June 3, 2022 by charliesdad63

I can't begin to count the number of hours I've spent on those loungers (including sleeping out there on multiple occasions!). Not sure there's anyplace I'd rather be. Bliss. ♥️
michelleveade Posted June 3, 2022 #31 Share Posted June 3, 2022 I am also currently on this cruise and agree with everything kwokpot has said. The casino is open and hopping, including craps table. The ports are great, the mood is festive, and the crew is fantastic. MDR is a little slower than pre-Covid but whatever, who cares? Shows are good, and one night, Chris Williams, the flying Scotsman, will be a fly-on entertainer and do his show. He is one of the best CD ever, if you have never seen his show, it is fantastic. All in all, this is a terrific cruise, and if you have any specific questions, ask!

It is usually published as Tatsu, but has been cancelled almost every night since the first or second night, and Ivory has been closed. Travis is on the schedule for one night this week I believe. DEL67 Posted June 3, 2022 #35 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Did you or anyone you knew on the Pride use a proctored home Covid test on the Pride? I was on the Pride last fall and the internet was very poor so I am concerned about relying on it to get Covid test results for returning to the US. Rare Eli_6 Posted June 3, 2022 #36 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Well, to the lady who was wearing her mask and sticking to her cabin: You were clearly in the right because my husband just tested positive for Covid today after our Alaskan cruise. He is vaccinated and boosted...and still REALLY sick. The only good thing is that he won't have to test before we sail or before we fly home now on our Europe cruise because he will have proof of recovery.

I hope he feels better right away. This damn virus is just relentless.
Rare ScratchTheRat Posted June 4, 2022 #38 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Let's all just remember the key thing, that we all have a right to vacation the way we want to. Not everyone goes on a cruise to be social, a lot of us go to spend time with our loved ones in a different setting. Not everyone drinks, not everyone likes dressing up for elegant night, not everyone likes the ports. Respect goes a long way and it's seemingly becoming more and more of an afterthought. Spread Kindness, not COVID 😉 22

kwokpot Posted June 5, 2022 #41 Share Posted June 5, 2022 Having a great time on the cruise . It's Day 18 of 31 for us. Today is Bilbao,Spain. New City for us,yay! My best recommendation for Pride cruisers in Europe - DO YOUR PORT OF CALLS RESEARCH. Even in Europe there are many places the ship docks where we're not right at the city center and one would need to take some kind of transportation 20-30 minutes to get to the city center. Today's port stop, Bilbao, the cruise terminal is actually 25 minutes away from the city center. The Guggenheim Bilbao isn't walking distance from the ship pier. Doing prior research will avoid all kinds of heartaches and annoyances.
EllieinNJ Posted June 5, 2022 #42 Share Posted June 5, 2022 Glad that most of you are enjoying the Pride this year. We will be on her next May/June 2023. Some on that other social media group are complaining how run down the ship is. Broken A/C, broken toilets, rusted balconies, dark and dingy decorations, etc. I think she will be going for a refurbishment in early May, just before our cruise. Hope these problems are fixed then.

We have been on Pride two separate cruises since Fall 2021 and have TA booked for October 2023. We thoroughly enjoy the Pride and have never come up with as many complaints as some others. Decor - well that’s the Pride! Other issues - well I suppose they are there but she wasn’t built yesterday. I trust you have wonderful days as you cruise along. There's no charge to use the spa facilities in the Pride. There's a hot tub/whirlpool in the middle of the gym that's complementary as well as access to the gym/spa locker rooms that have single sex steam and sauna rooms (NO, you don't need to wear clothing to use the steam or sauna, just a towel is fine bathing suit needed for the co-ed whirlpool) as well as stall showers with body sprays.
