It’s been a while since we’ve cruised. Are Formal nights still Smart Casual at the Specialty Restaurants? And are Formal Nights still never on the first and last days of a cruise?

The answer to your first question is yes. You are right about the Formal Nights never on the first or last night. Have a great cruise!!

The dress requirements on formal nights in the dining room are now about the same as Specialty Restaurants. Some people participate in dressing up, some don't.

Wait for it...🤣🤣

OK you guys asked for it. I always wear my tuxedo on formal nights. Am sorry I couldn’t help myself. 😁

I did answer the first questions correctly.

Wow!

A formal night question that doesn’t get hijacked by people deriding the merits of formal attire.

Surely you jest as your post was only #4 and there is PLENTY of time for this thread to devolve into the usual debates.

Might be fun to have them on first or last night.

Some haven't received luggage on the first night, or have set out their luggage for porters on the last.

Can't see traveling in formal wear today, though at one time people would dress for air travel. A good percentage wouldn't dress formally anyway. Interested to know your thoughts on how this would work.

Wouldn't work for everyone but some could do it, just like how many attempt to do it on current formal nights. Would however make for some good people watching/ judging people, which clearly people do as shown nearly every time dress code gets brought up.
