Shareholder credit - no response

 Share

Recommended Posts

Sailing tomorrow, put in for my shareholder credit on May 23, received auto reply that it may not be confirmed until week before sailing. Nothing lee since then. On Monday I sent another one with the sailing date in the subject (probably should have done that the first time.)

Has anyone been denied? Or is there a chance I might see it show up while I’m on the cruise?

Thanks.

There is a chance. I would, however, bring documentation of the stock ownership and a printout of the e-mail showing you had submitted it and the had received it. Good luck, hoping for your sake it is granted.

on my last two cruises, I didn't know until it showed up on my bill.  I never received an email or anything. (submitted by fax)

this time, I submitted by email and then I got a denial reply??  Saying that I booked at a reduced rate, blah blah blah... (all my cruises are booked with reduced rates, wth?)  so I resubmitted by fax, haven't heard back yet...

Happened to me with a last minute booking - take proof of Shares with you, go to desk when not busy, they will communicate with the “people” who handle this - we saw credit within 24 hours.

The stockholder credit is renewed something in late spring so any requests for cruises after that date, need to be sent after the renewal.

Call Guest Administration @ 1800-438-6744  Ext-7045. If someone answers the phone before you enter the extension number ask to be transferred to stockholders OBC.  Good luck.

Yes, I have had this happen twice now - I've gotten notification that shareholder OBC was granted while I was on the ship.  Once I was standing in line at guest services (w/a copy of my investment statement) to ask them about it, when I saw the email come in on my phone.  Weird timing.

I’ve also been successful in getting it added at guest services. Need proof of shareholder ownership. They had to send off a message to corporate for approval so do it early on in your cruise.  Took a couple of days after that to be posted.

Can you remind me of when that is - seems like someone said the stockholder meeting is in June?

I thought I had read somewhere that at the last stockholders' meeting they had extended it for 2 years not they usual 1 year. In fact, IIRC, there was at the time threads about it in the cc section of the various lines that Carnival Corporation owns.

I was also getting very quick responses, then all of a sudden they stopped.  We were quickly granted OBC for our cruises in June, July, and September, but I can't get a response when I request it for our cruise in November.

According to Carnival Corporation's Annual Report (page 11):

"The Shareholder benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2023 aboard the brands listed below. Certain restrictions apply. Applications to receive these benefits should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date."

update.  I submitted my request the night of 6/8 for the 4 cruises. status so far.

June 22 cruise - no response

Nov 22 cruise - approved 6/9

Jan 23 cruise - approved 6/9

April 23 cruise - denied 6/9 (denial reason was that there was no name on the brokerage statement, but i sent the same exact statement for the other 2 that were approved.  guess the person processing can't read)

So just going to resubmit the April 23 request again.

Just got off the phone, they verbally told me I do not get the credit since my offer made the cruise basically free 😂 I appreciate everyone’s responses though!

On our last two cruises (March & May), we used a free balcony offer and still got the obc...but it could have been because I had paid to upgrade our cabin...from balcony to premium balcony..

We are leaving this Thursday on a free oceanview which I did not upgrade... I got a response from them saying denied because of the discounted deal... but all my cruises are discounted deals..so wth?  I faxed it in again about 2 weeks ago...so, we'll see.

If you booked a casino deal no shareholder benefit!

All of our cruises are casino deals and we still get it...

The current sheet that shows shareholder benefits says the benefits are for sailings though July 31, 2023.  Based on that I do not know why you would need to wait to send the request in.  It also says you need to have it in 4 weeks prior to sailing.

I have attached a copy of the sheet with the info.  It can be found on Carnival's corporate site.
