The B2B meeting this morning was very smooth.   It was surprising that there were very few stupid question's.    Must have a lot of veteran B2B's.

The best news was we do not have to do immigration, as we are In-Transit.    Other guests have to go for a Face to Face in SkyLounge stating at 0600 -- ouch.

Hi, Jim, question - curious about what you mean about how on turn around day, some people have to do a face to face meeting in Sky......aren't all B2Bers considered "in transit"?  Wondering why some B2Bers have to have this meeting in Sky whereas others (you two), don't have to.  Curious about this.  Thank you!

Maybe you should book it to lock in a cabin on a Refundable and then shift to 2024 when you see the dates and the prices.

Would Celebrity charge me a fee if I was to move my refundable deposit from the 2023 itinerary to the 2024 one?

Joanie,

Just a minor correction, it’s Ethan Cross not Ian 👍.  TIA.

@GeorgiaPeach51 I read Carlos Ruiz Zafón "The Shadow of the Wind" on TA Miami to Barcelona (Seven Seas Splendor) April 2022, set in Barcelona, with a walking tour at the end of the book. Cemetery of Forgotten Books 4 Book series. A great cruise read for 4 of us!!

My understanding is ALL B2B do not require immigration.  Not just special ones.   Lol.

I believe Celebrity messaging doesn’t  usually work and we also all received a letter saying we need to clear immigration.   They didn’t filter out B2B.   So if you received you can just ignore if B2B.    I’m not sure if we have to fill out the Iceland declaration.  Our butler said the Retreat Concierge's are working to clarify .

You can however and go to sky lounge at 6:00 LOL.

Why can’t Celebrity just hire a proof reader.   Maybe they will try to clarify but don’t hold your breath.

I loved the answer to what do you do with valuables if changing rooms and   going ashore and using transit passes.   Oh just put in suite case or carry ashore.

Reality - just coordinate with stateroom attendant and when current passenger leaves room they will let you in to lock up your valuables.

No if prior to final payment at least for a US reservation.    Idk and some other countries have different rules I always forget about.

Here is the latest book list, updated.  😁

Joanie

Book Series to Read

Good topic and thanks for your list.  But maybe start a separate thread?  So as not to hijack Jim's live posting thread?  Unless of course he does not mind?

Joanie (GeorgiaPeach51) has been keeping a list on my Threads for years.

Definitely don't mind.... actually I reached out to her.   I get so many of my books from her list.    Also a couple librarians have reached out and helped me find some great resources for free content via our local libraries.

Have you been through NZ or Norway’s?  They are both spectacular!

Ouch, don't mention  Norway to @Jim_Iain☹. Agree NZ is spectacular as were Chile's. I guess they all are really. Makes me realise I prefer wilderness to city hopping cruises these days.

Hi Jim!

If you have the opportunity, could you let me know how the smoking areas are on the Summit?  Our last M class sailing was on Infinity and my husband was underwhelmed by the areas available to hang out and smoke his cigars. The mast bar area in particular was exposed and not great seating. I know Summit is revolutionized, is this area and the sheltered area on the pool deck spruced up ?

Thanks for all your posts here. The DH liked the idea of cruising a B2B to Iceland.!

Mar apologized for the mess up.   She prepared the letters about the face to face and forgot to purge out the B2B.

It’s a complete manual system and she has to create a excel spreadsheet and then do a mail merge.

B2B do not need to do anything on Thursday. and do not need to fill out a declaration.

Neither.    I tested positive in April and was escorted off the ship by the ghost buster squad and missed Norway 🇳🇴

Iain said the only area that cigars are allowed is Mast Bar.  They have spruced it up a bit and now have a number of tables and chairs in addition to the alcove seating.  It is still exposed.

I’ll take a photo tomorrow

Yup, that sounds about right. We had officers standing at the entrances of the theater asking folks to put a mask on. But then after they entered the theater, there were of course those few that thought they couldn’t be bothered and put them back in their pocket. But, that’s pretty much the norm on most of the cruises we’ve been on where they’ve implemented wearing masks in the theater. We just stay totally clear of those visionary ones. Kind of like those that don’t wear a mask that come to the B2B meeting and have to test the next day! 😂

Sadly,   rufusal to wear a mask is usually a political statement.

I really enjoy reading Joanie's book lists and checking off what I have read.
But I do think it deservers a special thread of its own so it is easy to find and also available to everybody even when JIm and Iain are not travelling?

Just a thought.

Yes, we’ve done both and they are very different from each other: Norway’s are very tactile - feel like you could touch them, whereas NZ’s are very panoramic. As you say, both are spectacular, but in their own way.

Does anyone else here use GoodReads to keep track of books?  I'd be happy to create a dupicate of this list there and share it within threads when people ask.  It's a bit more searchable and you can then read through this list and save the ones you want to your own "to be read" file/list.
