A Quiet Place Embarkation Day on Emerald and Ruby

           Are there any quiet places to go on these ships while waiting for the cabins to be ready ? We dislike the loud buffet ?   THANKS.

Ruby has a quiet area straight out of the very back of the buffet at back of ship , there are tables and chairs it was usually empty on our last cruise .

I think it is called Horizon Terrace.

You have to make your way through the hustle and bustle in the Buffet but there are many places to hide.

Terrance Deck (there are great loungers up one deck and around the corner...hidden

The opposite Promenade Deck from embarkation

The pool way forward (inside the Spa/free)

Cabins may be ready sooner than you think. Possibly when you board.

Any of the tables around the pools are quiet and you can get a burger, dog, fries, chicken from the grill or a few slices of pizza.

I find that many areas that are often quiet during the cruise have people wandering through them on embarkation day, as newbies explore the ship.  But this is not people settling in for a stay, it is people walking through to disrupt your peace and quiet.  

 

But most of this is after the cabins have been released so people can drop off their carry-on.  People are less inclined to explore if they are dragging around their carry-on baggage!

We often go to the coffee bar there are lovely salads and sandwiches lovely cakes and then take it into vines wine bar to eat with a drink it's never overcrowded or you can order a drink there and have complimentary tapas

If you have a Alfred's pizzeria on board that's lovely too

Remember there is a dining room open for lunch from 12pm to 1:30. Deck 6 midship usually.
