Has Anyone Been On a B2B Recently?

Someone on the book just said that RC doesn’t test anymore if you’re doing a B2B.

Can anyone confirm this? 
I will be going to Bermuda first then Canada NE so we will need to test while on the ship.

Of course we pick the 2 places that still require testing. Lol

That has been true for a while, but it doesn't apply if the destination requires it.

If the destination requires it and you're on a B2B, RCI will provide the test.

Providing you are staying onboard for the second leg on the same ship, or on another RCL ship leaving from the same port on the same day, yes. If you are switching lines or have any days between legs, you are on your own for testing.

Same ship, return and leave on the same day.

I just called RC and he showed me where to find the answer because it’s not in the Health Protocols.

 

For guests departing from a North American homeport on consecutive sailings on the same ship

You will need to meet any travel requirements that are in place for the first cruise in your series. See requirements by homeport.

For most North American consecutive cruises, testing will not be required on subsequent sailings, regardless of vaccination status, the duration of those sailings, or the total duration of your cruise series.

There are some exceptions: If your subsequent cruise visits Canada or Bermuda, you will need to complete a test before that sailing commences. Guest Services will contact your before the sailing to arrange for that testing.

We are currently on a B2B that includes Canada. We had to submit test results for the first leg but did not have to do any testing for the second leg.

Have you heard of any covid cases on your second half.  We are cruising Seattle to Vancouver and then because of a 3 night stay in Vancouver we need to test again before boarding Quantum to Hawaii.  Hoping we don't pick up covid during the Ovation cruise.

Different scenario here, but FYI - we did Copenhagen to Northern Europe and are now on back to back from Copenhagen to Arctic Circle crossing. Test required two days prior to first cruise and not for second.

I have seen nor heard anything related to COVID cases on either cruise.

Both cruises included a stop in Victoria, BC.

 

There is a couple on board who are on their fourth week and will be sailing next week as well.  No testing except for the one done two days prior to their first cruise.

No test required for Norway, Iceland, or Greenland.

@KATHYMAC68 I'm doing the exact b2b you are except I'm leaving September 24th.  (Bermuda and then Canada). I plan on doing a live thread, so you can follow along.  I will post my experience with this and everything as it will be my first b2b.

I will definitely follow! Can you please note if they have a shuttle from the ship to Faneuil Hall area in Boston.
Also if they tested you on the ship for Canada.

We did a B2B in June on Freedom and did not have to get tested between cruises.

My travel agent assures me they will test us.  I asked her a couple months back and she found out the answer.  Plus, i think in one of your other posts, you found the part on Royal Caribbean where they say they will test you if you need it for b2b.

I've never been to any of these ports except Bermuda.  Boston, i've decided to rent a car so i may or may not be able to find out about that shuttle.

I did speak to them and they showed me the info.

But today I called to request a table for 2 and I asked the question again. And she put me on hold and came back and said that the first test for the first leg is all we will need. There is no second test while onboard.

So I’m back where I started… lol

Similiar situation for me. We're doing the 3 nights cruise from Rome to Barcelona, followed by the Transatlantic on Wonder.

 

Since the first is shorter than 7 days and doesn't go to Greece, no test is needed. However, for the TA, full vaccination is mandatory and a test done not older than 3 days before boarding. Since the previous cruise will already have started outside of the testing window, I called RCL to ask if they would offer tests on board for B2B passengers. The agent I talked to didn't know, so she contacted a resolution specialist and his answer was we wouldn't need to do a test for the TA as no test was necessary on the first leg, so the same would be true for B2B passengers on the second leg.

Still not sure about this, but in case it's not, I really hope they will let us do the test on board.

Sailed three weeks ago out of Vancouver and required a test.  Did NOT require a second test when sailing back from Seward on the B2B.  People taking cruisetours in Alaska had to test before their land portion and again before boarding in Seward.

I am doing B2B Sept.24 7 Night Symphony followed by Oct.1 8Night Explorer . I called last night to try and gain info on the process of changimg to second ship (same port) and was told that I will need to test for second leg. This is counter to all the info I had gathered here previously. Not sure if this is just another case of misinformation or if she is right ...

Anyone with any concrete evidence would be greatly appreciated !

I’ve been searching for concrete info too. 
2 different calls to RC gave me 2 different answers.

One said a second test is not necessary if you’re on the same ship for both legs, even if Canada is the second leg.

The other rep said that RC will test us 2 days before the turn around day.

Im afraid to make another call. They may tell me I have to get off the ship and find a place to get tested! 😆

The agents you are calling have limited knowledge regarding this question.  They are basically sales agents. They have some  questions and scripted answers, but yours is a bit more detailed and doesn’t come up that often. 
 

if you call again you will probably get a different answer, as the agents don’t have that question in their script.   The agents that are seeing the word Canada are telling you you need to be tested, the agents that are hearing the words back to back are  telling you that you don’t.  

Logically, if you need a test, there’s no way that you can take care of it yourself because you will be on board.  It will have to be taken care of through the cruise line 
 

You can be assured If you need to be tested, royal will administer the test. And if that is the case,  you will be provided information once on board.
