Don’t worry, you haven’t missed much LOL.  Technical difficulties pre-empted the “Live” portion but it looks like we’re back in business.

Glad you getting some better internet. I don't know if the ship has Starlink installed if so it would nice if they enabled it.

Just caught up to the review. Enjoying it.
Our internet is OK. Not as great as it is on the Anthem, but fast enough. We have Surf and Stream. We are on the Equinox.

I read a post on CC which had a time table of dates when ships will be Starlink equipped. Seemed like starting from 9/5/2022 to well into 2023.

Where is your refrigerator/cooler?

As Td6462 said, it’s all the way to the right.  It didn’t make it into the photo but there’s another full bank of cabinets there & the cooler is in the bottom.

Also in a JS. Our "cooler" is located next to the slider in the bottom cabinet. As a newer cruiser, i did expect something different from our first JS. I don't actually mind the "closed in" balcony. I actually like not having another cabin be able to look around the corner. The room is IMO lacking in quality.  I will stipulate our other two cruises were on Odyssey and Symphony so this is a big age difference. We chose this b2b to island hop from a home port. All else aside IMO this is the seemingly happiest crew we have had of our ship trips this year.

We don’t mind the closed in balcony either, it’s very private.
Out of curiosity, what do you not care for about the cabin?  I was concerned the decor would be very dated but that was based in my memories of Explorer back in 2013 & 2014 with its old teal color scheme.  I was pleasantly surprised though.  We would definitely book another Jr Suite if the price was right but to be honest, we haven’t used a fraction of the storage space that’s available, so I can’t say I’m sold on the larger room as a requirement going forward.

Last night was formal night as well as 70’s night.

First stop was Viking Crown Lounge (or whatever they’re calling it these days) for sunset.

It was nearly empty.

Next was 70’s music trivia in the Schooner Bar.  Our score was 13 correct answers out of 20.  I take credit for most of them, the 70’s was my era.  Andy would best me hands down if there was an 80’s music trivia contest.

Dinner in the MDR.  I remembered pictures this time!

Looks like you are having a great time. Food looks good too. The Crown bar or like you say whatever it is on Liberty was like that too. Empty till after 10 or 11pm when they do the disco.

I feel that the Viking Crown Lounge (and it's various alias's) are becoming a thing of the past. On the smaller, older ships, it used to be the center of nightlife.

On the bigger ships, there are so many venues to spread out the party people that the VCL is almost an afterthought.

Funny,  we have used every inch of storage and closet space but we are here for 2 weeks and have a 4 year old with lot's of dresses. I just think I had different expectations on what the JS would be. Even with pre cruise reaserch.

I do really also enjoy Derek at the R bar! He is fantastic.

By the looks of your cruise port boston photo you appear to be on the same deck maybe 10 doors down or so.

I have random photos to supplement different things you're posting (younger family POV/things I find interesting) but I can't get any of them to upload. I just get (random server error-200) at the very end of the photo uploading. It's so frustrating.

Hope you enjoyed your perfect day yesterday and I hope you enjoy the sea day today!

I agree. It was sad because it is a beautiful place with all it's windows. We went there twice and there was a total  6 people in there. The bartender looked like he was bored.

Well two weeks with a four year old along and we’d definitely use up more of the storage.
If you haven’t already, maybe stop by the internet desk about your photo issues.  In addition to upgrading us to Surf & Stream, the young man also fiddled around with some settings on my phone (with my permission) and it’s been working pretty well since then.  Not fast for sure, but at least I can post and load pictures.
We’re on Deck 9, not too far from the forward stairs & elevators.  Say hi if you see us!

Yesterday was a great day on Coco Cay.  We parked ourselves at the Oasis pool.  They didn’t have mint to make mojitos so I had to suffer through a couple of Painkillers instead 😉.  Lunch was a cheesesteak, potato salad, Caesar salad and some fries, it was all very good.

We got back onboard around 3 pm and since the ship was pretty empty, I took a few more pictures.

This is the Tavern Bar on deck 4.  Although it’s a larger bar and seating area, we haven’t found it to have the same fun energy that R Bar has.

The "umbrellas" are new since we were there earlier this year.  Nice addition.

We weren’t crazy about last nights MDR menu so when we got back onboard at 3, we decided to take a shot at getting a reservation at Giovanni’s.
We had no problem getting one and could’ve chosen any time we wanted.  When we arrived for dinner, the restaurant was nearly empty with just a few other diners in the far corners.

We had the meat plank for an appetizer, half portions of the pasta special (Arabbiata with capers for me, spinach gnocchi for Andy) and we both had filet minon four our mains.  22D11EDA-FE9F-4AA7-A294-23C36D865A22.thumb.jpeg.9c0ee4af55909bbb76402b62e6fb6d78.jpeg

It was a wonderful meal from start to finish.  We stopped at the Schooner Bar to check on the baseball score.  Since it wasn’t looking good for the Phillies, and because the piano entertainer was making my ears hurt, we headed to R Bar.  I tried a new drink that the gentleman beside me was having, a Caipirinha.  It was fan-tastic!  But very strong so I could have one.  Sorry I didn’t take a picture.  Guess I’ll just have to order another one tonight 😀,  for all of you of course!

You changed my mind on Giovanni's Table.

Food looks much better on your photos.

Going to try it on our next cruise in December.

Thank you!!
