Shiraz49 Posted December 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2022 This article appeared in this morning Herald Sun newspaper (Melb. Vic. Aust.) the writer is claiming a "free" cruise as compensation for a few days in isolation due to a positive covid test. I thought that Princess only compensated for actual loss due to actual days in isolation either with FCC's or refund (probably depending on local laws). Anyone with any "compensation" experience able to comment, just curious at the (potentially) different interpretation. Interesting that Princess "denied" my posting .... as they have with at least one other where I was commenting on my love of a good Bloody Mary ...... even though it's a drink they serve and list on their drinks menus apparently you can't say "bloody" on their FB page. eclue Posted December 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2022 I cannot understand being compensated for getting covid. It was your choice to travel and Princess did not make you do it.

Your flawed logic could be applied to any situation such as a slip and fall accident at a store because the store did not make you walk on that specific spot. And as for Princess offering compensation ... THEY DO (read the attachment).

IF that is the article, I dont see where the author specified the number of days in isolation. Depending on the length of the isolation and that there are perhaps shorter cruises, both are possible. IF you were isolated for 4 days, there are certainly 4 day cruises that could be booked, for instance. But as the Princess copy seems to show, you get a credit for the days lost. I suppose that is the least that Princess could do, as many people have indicated that IF they discovered they were positive, they would not tell! Which, of course, risks the rest of the passengers and risks giving the line a reputation as a Covid Super-Spreader. So it is in everyone's interest to reduce the costs for the sick passenger. Totally different = not an analogy at all. the store would be liable. Princess did not give you covid - another person did and you should travel at your own risk. 3

Micahs Grandad Posted December 5, 2022 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2022 My wife tested positive on Emerald TA a few weeks ago. We expect a future credit credit for the 6 days she spent in isolation as well as myself since I isolated with her. We were treated well and all meals came thru room service ordered via the DR or int cafe or world marketplace and pre dinner drinks were also offered. Never could get a straight answer as to whether the room service wait staff received any of our auto tips and finally the lady who handled our calls said dont worry about tipping so ultimately we did not.

Don't expect it soon. DW got COVID on the May 27th Crown Princess this past year and we were quarantined 2 days. We still haven't gotten the FCC from Princess, just a bunch of run-around... thinfool Posted December 5, 2022 #14 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Wife was (very) positive for covid on the Sky a couple of weeks ago...midway thru a 7 day trip. Princess tested, confirmed result thru their medical team. We were isolated for the last 3 days of our trip. A sweet gal in the pursers dept was assigned to coordinate with us. We survived well, I was negative and could roam the ship. Anyway, as we debarked our gal from the purser gave us letters of FCC, carefully telling us to be sure to keep the letters safe so that we could prove we have the Princess approved credits to use on another sailing. (must use within 1 yr) Wife is still positive, but the test line is fading a little more each day.

Do you have to request the FCC’s now through customer relations?

Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted December 6, 2022 #17 Share Posted December 6, 2022 I am really sorry to hear of all the people having issues getting their quarantine FCC. It CAN be handled correctly. Despite the $hitshow that was quarantine on the Ruby in April, DH had his FCC for his 7 days (Day 0 to Day 6) in his Captains Circle account about the same time he was walking from Guest Services back to his cabin (his Medallion had been deactivated while he was quarantined) after he was released. No insurance claim necessary. It should be that easy for everyone.

Yes, apparently, the main office never got the documentation from the Crown until a few months after. Not sure why. So, they actually can see (when we call) that we are on the list to get FCCs, but every time we call, they keep telling us "it will be in within 2-4 weeks". We've gotten that story for a couple of months now...

Did you have to wait to be escorted off the ship once the other passengers had disembarked. ?
