Wonder oversold

I'd be pissed if I booked the newest Oasis Class ship and the offer was to transfer to 22 year old Explorer.

Then dont take it. I think for me a full refund for a high priced new ship, a free cruise and obc I'd be tempted.  Offer seems very good to me. Wish oasis got it.

Pissed?  As I understand it that was only one of three offers these people could voluntarily accept.  If somebody did not like any of the offers, they should not volunteer.  No reason to be pissed.

I think we had 183 pinnacles my first week last dec. Saw a lot of gold pins.

That was TX, they were dying for a big girl down there. Also December is low season.

March in FL is pricey and lots of kids.

Two things that keep a lot of Pins home

I was on Apex for Christmas 22', and they only had "1" Zenith couple on the whole vessel.  By the end of the year, Celebrity was adding another "7" Zeniths, to the grand total of "87" fleet wide!  So your ship, had more than double, the total Pinnacles to Zenith's, in Celebrity's entire program.

Someone said the offer for Wonder next week was targeted and not everyone was sent the offer. And that locals could benefit from this offer without having to consider things like air travel etc.

Anyone not "local" get the offer?

Oh yes even us non-pinnies kept hoping for one of the big girls to get down here, for years.

I get to sail on my first big girl next week out of Miami and my 2nd out of Galveston YEA! in January.

Is it true this was not the first time Wonder was oversold?

Wonder has 120 Pinnacles on her this week. 😱

Pretty high for March

This may be the first week that Wonder was allowable for a Pinnacle tier cruise or last years free casino tier cruise. (Just a few weeks prior to deadline).

Since we are in spring break time, get ready to hear all the (pinnacle) complaints about families/children.

We are booked next week and was surprised to learn the high P count. We’ve been sailing B2B mid March (from PC) since way before Covid and the family packed spring break cruises have had lower P numbers.   Obviously mot anymore.

And if you do not voluntarily walk the plank when requested, you will be thrown overboard. 😁

Sorry for the interruption, thought it was a Cunard Dress Code no Tux discussion…. 😉😊

This is about the time the discussion goes off the rails in a completely new direction because you made an innocent comment about "dress code",.........wait for it,......wait for it.....   😉🤪

Move from 7 night Harmony to 6 night Explorer and get 100% of our money paid on Harmony back plus $300 OBC. I am guessing the OBC makes up for the one less day cruise. Either way we will have a great time, but the financial incentive was too good to turn down. I asked on the RCI FB page and they said that we won't hear the result until after the deadline for accepting. I thought that sounded strange as they said limited time and available space so you would think they would want to get this sorted out asap. Does anyone know what criteria they use to pick the offers to accept?

As to what criteria, I’d have to speculate that RCI would the set of volunteers that hit RCI least hard in the wallet.  So, if they oversold ocean balconies, volunteers who paid less for their ocean balconies would tend to be favored over those who paid more as the refund will be lower.  I would speculate they will choose volunteers who want to move to Explorer this week until those cabins are filled; better to fill every ship this week before giving FCC’s.  Those are my guesses.

Yea......but free cruises is something that brings out the pins. I think that Royal screwed up with free cruise offers....I can tell you that they were offering free prime sailings on Odyssey for this time frame also back as far as last July....and Odyssey has been another pretty much sold out ship for the last couple months.

Something tells that free cruises brings  out EVERYBODY, not one particular C&A group.

Other than milestone cruises and annual Prime cruise, I've never gotten a free cruise.

Laura used to get a few, but that's dried up

Casino tier cruises ( or earned casino  certfiicaes)  are for any C&A level.     My point was the poster made it seem that the free cruises bring out Pinnacle cruisers only.

Absolutely agree...my point was that I think Royal screwed up sending out offers for free cruises on some of the most popular ships during one of the busiest most high demand, expensive months on the year....during spring break. Not complaining...just thought it was odd.

The blog I read said this same ship also was oversold last dec. 2nd time for this ship.

I can see them targeting locals as it would be easier to do the 6 day if you werent flying. .. but rcl works in mysterious ways. I checked cruisefare for wonder out of port Canaveral and just the cruisefare started over 2k before taxes and fees .. and up. Couldnt book in my time frame under 2k starting prices.

The ones that made zenith on that cruise?  That was my parents lol.  Didn't realize there were so few zenith members.

Actually, now that I think about it, they were on the new years cruise.  So I guess they were one of the 7.
