Platinum question please

Hello Carnival cruisers. My husband and I will turn platinum during our November 2023 cruise. I heard on a YouTube video that as a platinum perk you get to complete your online check in two days before the normal online check in however I do not see that on any of platinum perk information that I could find. Does anyone know if this is true?

I do know that if you turn platinum during the cruise we would get those perks the entire cruise.

Yes, it is true that you can check in on-line for your cruise 16 days ahead of the sailing date instead of 14 days.  That’s one of the platinum perks.

You will get the perks as long as the day you turn Platinum isn't debarkation day

We turn on ours also. The check in date shows at 16 for us, not 14.

If you want to be able to check in at the absolute earliest allowable time, I’d actually set my alarm for midnight.  
 

It’s a pain to wake up and check in when the clock strikes the 16th day at midnight, however, you’ll get the very earliest option available to you.

I personally don’t see what all the hype is about getting the earliest check in time! I don’t see the point in checking in, going thru security and then sitting in a very uncomfortable chair for possibly a couple of hours waiting for boarding to start. Just choose a midday time and most times go right onto the ship.

My sister and I would wake up at 5am (no alarm set) and place pillows and blankets on the living room couch so our parents could rest comfortably while watching us open presents on Christmas.  Christmas couldn't start early enough for me and it's the same with cruises.  As soon as I walk on board, my vacation begins!😄

LOL.  I knew someone would chime in.  

The “hype” is … because very rarely do I ever sit in the chairs for more than a few minutes.  
 

I try for a 9:30/10:00 check-in.   By the time I’ve arrived, they’re boarding weddings and suites.  I don’t mind waiting.  
 

Like Ninja says, the sooner I board, the sooner my vacation starts.  😉

On our last cruise in January we hit Platinum on the last day. We had all the benefits for the whole cruise, including checking in two days early.

That may be true sometimes, but I’ve seen people still debarking and no one getting on when we arrived at 12. One specific time was last March in Jacksonville getting on Spirit. We did March and April, both times were delayed because of ship getting late clearance, and we had to wait almost an hour after I had to carry on our luggage because all the porters were busy helping those just debarking.  The second time we waited in line like that, no excuses were given, everyone was already off. No fun when you’re with DH on mobility scooter! Also last 2 times at port canaveral were late debarking as well. Rain had something to do with the first one and a broken ramp was the second time. The April 1 we were just on was the fastest in a while for port canaveral. You just never know.

Thank you everyone for your input. My family and myself also can’t wait and would rather sit and possibly wait a bit just to board and get our vacation started asap. This will be our first time with an aft balcony cabin and we are very excited 😀

Remember to order your Chocolate Delight from Room Service, get your bottle of water from the bar, Platinum gift from Pixel, cocktail last Brunch day I think and go to the Platinum/Diamond party.  You can each bring a guest if you wish (like the kids).  I think that's it but I'm sure someone will chime in with what I've forgotten.😄

Does each person get the chocolate delight? Both of us turn on our next cruise, so I can order one and DH can get his later in the cruise? Or is it per room?

It's one chocolate delight per person, so you can have two delivered to the room.

That is exactly what is about to happen to us on our next cruise.  Finally going to Alaska! Grateful for the laundry assistance as I will need to pack heavier clothes for this one.

Typically it has been chocolate covered strawberries for us... but basically it is a plate of special chocolate treats delivered to your stateroom.

LAUNDRY!  My favorite benefit-coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!  Also, priority debarkation and priority tenders to shore on tendered ports.

Check in begins at Midnight Miami time, so if you are in a different time zone, adjust accordingly. And it might even start a minute earlier.

Oh ok, I never knew what they were called.  I have had those delivered to our room when I was on a casino cruise.  We are turning platinum this next time so I didn't want to miss out on anything.  Thanks a bunch!

I am turning platinum on my next cruise as well.  Anxiously awaiting for my "check in" time to turn from 14 days to 16 days.  I just got off my cruise that bumped my next cruise up to platinum yesterday so hoping that it turns soon.

Was your S&S card also platinum? On my next cruise I will become platinum 3 days in. Our check in date is 16 days out too.
