When cruise points changed in 2011 to calculate points to nights cruised instead of one point per cruise, did they recalculate points from cruises prior to 2011?

Yes. Whether yours had any mistakes made in the process is a different story.

One cruise credit converted to 7 points.  Depending on how many credits you had at the time, you also got a few extra points.  There is a conversion table out there somewhere.

Thanks everyone. I missed out big time on my 16 night solo transatlantic. I couldn’t get the points to add up correctly. Now I know how it was calculated thanks to you.

I don't know how many other cruises you had - reallyitsmema's chart is the correct one.  If you had at least 7 cruises, you got a 13 point boost.  If you had 5, 6, or 7 cruises, you got a 3 point boost.

A 16 night cruise then was worth 2 credits, so you had at least 2 credits.

If that was your only cruise, the conversion gave you 15 points.  You only lost 1 point.

Solo points didn't change until 2013.

1 credit Mexican cruise

4 credits for being alive.(okay, not that)

(perhaps, because we were big Celebrity cruisers and the long lost “Founders” designation, so on a day in 2006 they “gave” us 4 RCL credits)

(Perhaps, they had lost a lot of old records so they gave us 4 credits)

(perhaps…)

Didn’t take another Royal cruise until after the conversion in 2011.

Until Jan 1, 2003 it was 1 credit per cruise no matter the stateroom category or length of cruise.

After Jan 1, 2003, an extra credit was given for cruises of 12 days or longer.

After Jan 1, 2004, an extra credit was given for cruises in a JS or better.

Double points for solo started Oct 2013

If their records retained the number of nights sailed, why not do the conversion based on number of nights?  Then, make calculations based on JS+ and solo for when those bonus points started?

Not sure Royal was always tracking days, only credits. Of course, this is a fight from more than a decade ago.

yes, folks that took mostly long cruises got shorted.

In your account under past cruises, the description lists the number of nights.

I was able to get 83 points for 56 nights.

how did you get the extra points put on your account???

It was how the conversion worked.  Pre-conversion it was credit based, not day based.

"If credits were > 7, points = credits * 7 + 13"

10 credits * 7 + 13 = 83 points
