Go to the photo shop, find a friendly worker, show them your Platinum card, and ask for your gift.

Platinum gifts USED to be left in the cabin.  No further comment. 🤬

I don't like that we have to go ask for our gift.  Gifts should be given.  It's a small thing, but damn. 🙃

i agree. other cruise lines i sail on have no issues putting gifts in your room depending on your status. carnival is the only one that need you to pick it up

I turned Platinum last cruise, never received a gift. Do I have to ask for it, or is it something that's supposed to be left in cabin?

When you get to your cabin there should be a sheet with multiple QR codes. One of those codes tells you how/where to get the VIFP benefits for the various VIFP levels.

Originally, after the restart from COVID, Carnival said the change was to reduce the number of employees going into pax cabins and potentially the spread of COVID.

At this point, though, it's obviously become another cost-saving measure, both for the labor to deliver to the cabins and the cost of the amenities.  I'm sure Carnival is distributing fewer gifts, pins, and moldy... errr chocolate delight plates when people have to proactively do something to get them.

Same with the free drink amenities... if you don't have a printed amenity list with the drink coupon, you're less likely to remember to order that free drink (or even know that you're entitled to it).

John originally said that we would get to choose between the three.  Then that changed to they were going to rotate through the three gifts and then allow you to choose.  I'm guessing that won't ever happen now, but hoping it does.

Well anything has to better than more can koozies. If I get another set of them, I'm thinking about taking mine apart to make a bikini top and wear it on my next cruise that could be the end of the koozie situation. That being said I am a great grandmother. No one will want to keep a koozie after seeing that. 🤣🫣

Triple dog dare you😃……It is a gift. Whatever the gift is (not your suggestion/threat🤩).  People can ruminate why Carnival does something or a change is made.  That said, it is a guess pure and simple.  Rumor mills usually are 95% …..wrong.

That's funny, same here - after reading this I went and looked at our items (still in the packaging) and yes, on Celebration the week of Thanksgiving we got the toiletry bags and I didn't even realize it (I also assumed more fanny packs at first glance).

What's a "koozie" ??

You don't get the email? I always have.  I just got one today for my cruise coming up in a couple of weeks:

Dear valued Diamond and Platinum Guests:

Welcome back!  We want to make you aware of the priority benefits for sailings departing from the U.S. and Europe. D

  • Platinum and Diamond guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred terminal arrival appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the terminal arrival appointment that works best with your plans. We will not be able to accommodate guests who show up earlier than their selected terminal arrival appointment.
  • Upon arrival to the terminal, look for the Priority line to check-in (as is customary, this is not available for Carnival Journeys cruises).
  • Once on board, you will be able to drop off your bags in your stateroom, but we ask that you not linger in the hallways or your stateroom.  Our team will still be working hard to get the ship ready for your sailing, so once you drop off your bags, please return to the public areas of the ship.
  • Priority luggage delivery is available for checked-bags.
  • Priority debark and water shuttle debark is available at the home port and ports of call (except on Carnival Journeys cruises).*
  • A US$25 in Casino FunPlay®, in addition to any other FunPlay® you might be entitled to as part of your booking, will be provided.
Additionally, please remember that certain VIFP amenities will be linked to your Sail & Sign folio for electronic redemption, like how we handle complimentary laundry. Simply claim your benefit, using your Sail & Sign card, and a one-time credit for that item will be posted on your folio and visible on your statement.

Complimentary Beverages
  • Brunch Beverage – redeemable in the dining room.
  • 1.5L Bottled Water – redeemable from any bar, restaurant or your stateroom.
Chocolate Delight (5+ Day Cruises)

A tasty treat will be ready for you to enjoy; just call room service to schedule delivery.

I probably did get the emails, and thought that I read them (but maybe not as thoroughly as I should have). We did go to Pixels and get the Pin on our March cruise but didn't get any other gift. When we cruised in October we saw the pin was the same and didn't bother getting it. On our November cruise we didn't even check since we figured it'd just be the same pin again.🤔

I just share the repeat gift duplicates.  We have been cruising a lot since start up post covid- so have many can koozies and now we have multiple fanny packs.  🙂  My family and friends that cruise but are not yet platinum, get a kick out of receiving these little items as a reminder of their cruise with us.  I remember when people were complaining about receiving multiple insulated coffee cups and drink bottles and the like.    Sheesh.  I remember complaints when people didn't like the beach bag/ cooler bags or the little blue tooth speakers.  I think those may have been gifts from casino cruises, but there was still a bunch of griping about it.  I have a cupboard that consists of water bottles, insulated bottles, beer koozies and amazing small insulated cups and larger coffee mugs.   I just don't understand the energy people expend worrying about these things.  I confess I did forget to pick up pins or koozies once or twice once that started, and I have eaten so much on a cruise or two that we skipped the strawberries entirely.   I just enjoy it all as it comes.
