It is time to escape the northern winter snow and cold, at least for a while, and try out Celebrity’s latest billion dollar lady. So much has changed since our last Celebrity voyage, a mere 8 months ago. We will finally experience those changes for ourselves. I will be with my wonderful traveling partner — my wife of 40 years. We will be is a Sky Suite and plan on getting off the ship only once . I can’t go to Cozumel and not go to Nachi Cocum!!! Here is our itinerary: We booked this cruise a while back and got what ended up being a great deal. I know there are a bunch of other CC’ers that jumped on the deal —— please feel free to post and contribute your observations — the more the merrier. I’ll answer any questions I can — I do really enjoy posting our experiences and hope others can benefit. We can probably be found at Cafe alBacio !!! Rare mac_tlc Posted January 17 Author #3 Share Posted January 17 Our journey will begin tomorrow with a flight from CT to Orlando. We will spend a few days at our house there and then “enjoy” the “E-ticket” ride known as I-95 on Sunday morning. We will rent a car one-way down and then again back to Orlando after the cruise. Gives us a little time to unpack and then unwind afterwards . mac_tlc

Rare mac_tlc Posted January 17 Author #9 Share Posted January 17 Since discovering the FlightAware app a number of years ago, I like to track our plane through the day as it makes its way to CT. Sometimes you can tell it’s going to be late/delayed before the airline tells you. I’d rather wait home than in the airport. So far so good. Plane has two legs before it get to CT and they are on time —- but things certainly can change. mac_tlc

We chose Alaska Airlines as it was half the price of Delta for first class and also non-stop. It wasn't until after I was selecting our seats that I read the stats on our flight legs (provided by the airline) indicating that the ATL to SEA flight is only on time 52% of the time and 14% of the time delayed, 0% cancelled...I hate to think what happens in the remaining 44% of the time 😳. Think I'll download this app! Edited January 17 by Georgia_Peaches
marne-c Posted January 17 #12 Share Posted January 17 Hey, @Georgia_Peaches: I'm a fan! Do indeed get the Flight Aware. Besides useful if scary stats about on-time history, it's also really helpful in seeing what gates flights typically use. --Marne 1

Rare countess5 Posted January 17 #14 Share Posted January 17 I may of missed it but how many nights is this cruise. Ours are 10 and 11 B2B. That would help on knowing the Chic nights. Cheers!
Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 17 #15 Share Posted January 17 Looking forward to following along on another of your adventures. I feel a bit guilty when I hear of your and Charla's weather and temperature forecasts. Here in California I was thinking it was chilly today at 54F. I grew up in Mass and Upstate NY so know how the cold is but one forgets how cold it really gets. I'm another big fan of FlightAware and track my inbound flights. I also often Google the Airline and Flight and then check the flights about a week in advance to see how often they are delayed. I need to have a Live Fix... Can't wait to read more.

Rare mac_tlc Posted January 17 Author #20 Share Posted January 17 Well we made it to the airport with no notable events. Pretty busy this afternoon, don’t know if they may have had some cancellations yesterday and are making it up today. We do have TSA Pre check so that helps. Plane has taken off from Chicago on time and should be here in CT on time, so all is looking good.

Janthere Posted January 17 #24 Share Posted January 17 I too will be onboard starting Sunday - got my cruise comped through the casino but then was able to upgrade for next to nothing to a Sky Suite (deck 10 too) during that crazy price offering so long ago. I am traveling solo this time as my husband is still catching up work wise from the month long trip I coerced him into doing in December. I am also booked for Nachi Cocum based on what I have read on these boards about it. Looking forward to a great week!
haynesra Posted January 18 #25 Share Posted January 18 Hopefully you have a great cruise. I see you are going to Cayman Islands. I have wanted to go there for a while now. Zero for 2 in attempts. Last attempt was in December (16th thru 23rd) last month on NCL. We had very rough waters (Night of 16th we went thru 60 to 70 mph winds and 15 to 20ft waves) for the entire trip almost. Could not tender in Cayman unfortunately. But as always, make the best of it since it is a cruise after all!!! Richard
