Or favorite bartender from Crooners on our Emerald Panama cruise a year ago is on the Discovery!  Fidel is here at Take Five!  We took this pic a year ago!

Nope, Cocktails in the PES(Platinum, Elite, Suites), lounge have always had a cost, the specials are at a discounted price. If you are in a suite on a Royal Class ship, there is a Concierge/Suite Lounge that usually has a complimentary cocktail hour with themes.

 

When there is a Captain’s Circle party on a sailing, cocktails are complimentary. 
 

Since we know from your own ‘live thread’ you were successful in getting Plus package as a solo with your wife as no show, so you have 15 daily cocktail drinks covered.

To confirm Churchills is officially closed and in the process of conversation to an arcade. Someone here in Take Five just got thrown out of the casino for smoking a cigar.  Now allowed only aft only on deck 17.

Ahhhh I think that’s what I had it confused with..the “concierge” lounge.

I’m a first-time platinum, so..just learning to “be cool”. I’ll definitely stop by the PES lounge tommorow..I was hoping they had cocktail shrimp..yes, I’m that guy, haha.

We've always thought the first and last night of a cruise are the weakest menus so when my wife saw German Night she was all informed the buffet!

They are opening an arcade by the casino where it’s really smoky? That sounds like a great place for the kids. Or is it not as smoky there as I remember?

I wonder if this is a long conversion or if it will happen overnight like so many people the conversions the maintenance crew gets done.

We sailed Discovery’s first 2 cruises in Spring 2022 and it is our favorite Royal-class ship & we’re returning on the total solar eclipse cruise in April.

 

If you notice whether the Silverado Winemakers Dinner ($45) is available or only the Caymus version ($140) is available would appreciate the info.

 

I may be able to answer that for you as I just asked about it a few weeks back. No, the only winemakers dinner was the Caymus at the much higher price.

Thanks…on their current list of dining options it shows both types on Discovery but what they advertised is not always what passengers will receive. Hoping that by our TSE cruise the Silverado WMD will be available which we’ve greatly enjoyed in every Royal-class ship’s Wine Cellar. 🤞🍷

All ships we have been on have entertainment, but it is for a limited time.  Maybe something like 5:30 to 6:00 pm.

Menu is different every night.  We never had shrimp.  Sushi, Greek Salad, Mexican, spring rolls.  My favorite was the chicken salad.

Good Morning.  Writing this as I watch The Wake Show with Cole and Oz.  A typical first day for us, we mainly explore the ship and have no structure to our day!  We're just not the type of people who circle everything in the Patter and rush from one thing to the other.  The ship is beautiful, this is our first time on Discovery.  The only other Royal class ship we've been on was the Royal and that was just a 3 day repo from Vancouver to San Francisco.  While we liked the Royal, we were not overwhelmed.  But as is typical Princess the first ship or two in a new class have issues.  Remember Skywalkers on the Grand?  Well what were they thinking eliminating 2 pools on the Royal?  Just when Princess finally gets the class right they move on to a new class.  I'm looking at you Sun Princess.  

 

Great sleeping last night the storms in the Pacific had us rolling a bit but we don't get sea sick and had the balcony door cracked to listen to the ocean.  I'm guessing those prone to sea sickness may have had an issue last night and if they did they are going to hate that last sea day going north in the storms.  If you've never cruised the Pacific it's vastly different from the Caribbean.  

 

Today we'll head to breakfast then at 11 there is a meet and greet from a group on that web site that shall not be named.  At 2 there is a slot pull and we will be there!  Other than that, who knows.  Looks like it will be cloudy today and about 60F.

We were on Emerald for 15 days last year and don't remember any entertainment in Skywalkers and we went every day.  Maybe a Royal class thing?
