Hello,

Does Customer Services on a Princess cruise have the capacity to change larger U.S. bills into small denominations, like $1 or $5 bills, for tipping excursion drivers/guides etc?

Thanks

Yes, I’ve broken $100 bills down many times at GS.

you can get the casino to do this.

Only when the cashier is open. Unless...

I know Carnival and NCL have kiosks where you can break bills.  I don't remember any on Princess that perform this function.  Do they have them?  I didn't spend much time in the casinos on any Princess ship I've been on, so I certainly could have missed them.

Side question (if you don't mind).  I've heard mixed answers regarding tipping crew with US dollars while cruising in foreign waters.  One YouTuber says that many of the crew come from countries that appreciate the US dollar.  Is that permissible?

The crew will accept any money you want to give them.  USD might be easier for them rather than some other currency but they gladly accept any and all monetary gifts.

Well not really.   One currency the crew hated when traveling in Europe was the Ruble.   Of course that was years ago.  The Ruble was worthless.

In New Zealand last year we could not get change for the US dollar on board.    I think it depends on where the cruise might start from.

Even the Russians hate the ruble.

No kiosks. Just visit guest services.
