Rude Captain on Carnival Miracle? see for yourself...

what about the part where another ship that was not having propulsion problems that left port Canaveral the same day as the Miracle and went to an island that the Miracle was suppost to visit.

 

Read John Heald's blog today about the logistics involved in a last minute port change. Pretty informative.

Everyone remember the Riot on the Carnival Miracle (August 29th - Sept 6th)? This is what started it all...

Cowboys-ya think? I refer to them as the Cowgirls. I used to refer them as the Dallas Drug Thugs but not so much anymore. They seemed to have gotten off the drugs and are now more into whining.

 

And my DH is a diehard Cowgirl fan.

 

 

As long as Jerry Jones owns them I will never be a fan-can't stand the way he treated Tom Landry. Landry=Class-Jones=Trash.

This is awful. If you compare the very rude passenger in this video to the polite message from the captain, you'll see the difference. I would have gone to my room or to another part of the ship. The man in the video is obviously out of control. I wonder if they could have escorted him to the brig?

Listened to the speech several times and still wanting to know from the OP what was rude about any of the things the Captain said. :confused:

 

I totally agree that I saw nothing in this video that made me think that the Captain was rude. I think he was just trying to be funny and lighten up the situation. I, for one, would rather be safe then roll around in some storm and spending the remainder of my cruise sick in bed. ;)

I agree that the captain was not rude, the crazed passenger needs to spend some time in anger management treatment. :eek:

The captain made me laugh when he mentioned the Nassau Beaches, sounded like something else;)

Well off to make dinner, do the laundry and tend the children. :D

Yeah I agree, but they both left Florida at the same time. One leaving directly from FL, and the other Left from NYC and docked at FL. and then left from FL at the same time.

 

Irrelevant, The Miracle had to return to NYC not Florida, last time I checked, cruise ships don't have warp speed.

A few thoughts...

 

#1- There isn't anyway that the Captain was rude. I too (as the majority think) would have been pleased with the with the way he presented things.

 

#2- What do you think happened to the "unruly" passenger in the video?

 

#3- I always cruise during hurricane season for different reasons. Most important reason, CHEAPER RATES !! In fact, I'm cruising in 3 weeks. I know what could happen, changes in itinerary, may miss ports, etc. I DON'T CARE. As long as I'm aboard the floating paradise, I'll be perfectly happy.

 

What were these passengers thinking (the ones on the video)??

I don't see anything offensive in what he said. When you cruise during hurricane season, you book with that expectation. He is no different than any captain on any ship or cruise line I've been on. The safety and comfort of passengers and crew is number one and that is what is the most important thing.

I have to say, that if THIS is what everyone has been lambasting Capt Volpi over the past few weeks......you people must live in a plastic bubble (those involved in the mutiny). There was nothing whatsoever rude about what he said.......thanks for posting this, just reaffirms my original thought that people are always trying to get something for nothing......

 

 

Its the guys sense of humor......if anyone should be ticked off, it should have been the poor woman on the 9/14 cruise who got up on stage thinking as a 26-time Carnival cruiser she was being given an 8 day cruise of her choice, only to have Volpi say "just kidding" and gave her some little trinket.

 

Get over it people.....it was a joke....he kept you all safe!

I totally agree with you! Rough seas can be tricky.

Actually the Miricle is a very fast ship, she was built somewhat streamline for just that purpose...we have sailed her before. It's quite a long haul from the Carribean to NYC.

We too have curised during the Hurricane season and have no problem with any changes that need to me made.

I didn't see "rude" I saw European. My entire family sounds just like him and when they have to speak in their 2nd language (English) they can come off as sounding rude or "full of themselves" as someone else mentioned. Italians are very "matter of fact" and straight forward in their explanations. I was shocked to see his hands so calm though. In my house the arms would have been waving.
