PinotBlanc Posted January 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2013 We're looking to reduce the stress of leaving the ship. We want to avoid the chaos of getting off the ship with the crowd. It's no problem being last off. We'll stay overnight in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Can you help us find a comfortable place to sit (S-Class or M-Class) with our carry off bundles. Comfortable chairs, cash bar, restrooms, and a view of the port area are end of cruise bonuses for those of us in no hurry. Are the pool areas or the buffet open during disembarkation? Which places can you recommend? Penny

Comfortable chairs, cash bar, restrooms, and a view of the port area are end of cruise bonuses for those of us in no hurry. Are the pool areas or the buffet open during disembarkation? Both Class of ships have an outside area AFT of the buffet which is very nice place to sit.:) Make sure you tell Guest Relations you want to be in the last group off the ship when filling out your disembarkation forms. The last groups are normally in the 9:30-9:45 range.
PinotBlanc Posted January 19, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2013 Lois, Is the Sky Lounge open on disembarkation day? Where do back to back cruisers spend time that day? Is coffee available at the back of the ship outside the buffet? Thank you for the information you've posted. I still hope there's bar service or a pool area spot for us. HopefulCruiser123 Posted January 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2013 Thank you! I have been trying to get a good answer to that question for days (I must not be asking it the right way). Look for us at the outside aft area on disembarkation day. We are the same people still sitting in the movie theater long after everyone else has gone, or the last out of the stands at a ball game. Much less stressful for us and we don't mind doing our small part to lessen the burden of customs or those who are in a really big hurry to get off the ship.;)
Bestbubba Posted January 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2013 On our Eclipse cruise we were surprised to find Cafe al Bacio open (cash payments only)....that was certainly a first for us:) Sue

Penny I have been cruising with Celebrity for many years and have never seen any "Bar Service" offered on the morning you disembark. Back To Back Cruisers are given special information from Guest Relations about where and when to meet. As for the pool? You can sit at the pool. But there is no service out there. Not sure where you are talking about having coffee outside..but there are no coffee stations out there. Oh, I don't know if the Sky Lounge is opened on the last morning. Maybe someone with first hand knowledge of that one can help you.

kitty9 Posted January 19, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 19, 2013 You will be off the ship by no later than 10am, probably earlier. They need to "zero out" the ship before they can start boarding the new cruisers. I've never seen any bar open for cash or anything else where you can get alcohol---Cafe al Bachio will be open for tea and coffee. And, my beverage package has NEVER worked on disembarkation day, so you won't be able to use a drink package card.
constantcruiser Posted January 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2013 On Equinox we enjoyed sitting in the library until about 10:00, when they made an announcement asking everyone to disembark. We just took some juice & pastries from breakfast and waited there till everyone else was off. Unfortunately waiting until then didn't make customs any easier...they were still backed up. But it was easy to get a cab to the airport.

I used it to get some Lattes whilst we waited to disembark in October but maybe it was because the staff knew us and we're just being kind. I remember hearing about it too (a while back) but not sure it pertains to every sailing. I have had plenty of late flights before but could never use it. pnsnkr Posted January 19, 2013 #15 Share Posted January 19, 2013 On our Reflection cruise last December, the bar in Oceanview Cafe (I think the bar is called Al Segundo Bacio) was open and saw a couple of women order coffee + Baileys using their drinks package. We ordered Latte, fresh squeezed juice and sparkling water at this bar using our drinks package. The package was active until we left the ship. We also saw folks drinking Bloody Mary at Al Bacio. PinotBlanc Posted January 20, 2013 Author #16 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Thxs to all posters, looks like I'll carry my mug to mix my own. Last eve of cruise I get the bottles I bought in port. Perhaps Kahlua or rum in the coffee mug will do for a good sit on deck while others line up for baggage claim and customs. Now, what to do before boarding to avoid the frenzy in the buffet? Another thread. Penny
SeaCBear Posted January 20, 2013 #17 Share Posted January 20, 2013 We were too - we used our Premium packages to get a cappuccino and an espresso just before disembarking. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us take the coffee's off the ship :( Some sort of immigration/customs regulation. We were able to get specialty teas at Al Bacio on disembarkation day on Equinox in Dec.

I have had plenty of late flights before but could never use it. I think they introduced it on a few European sailings For a fee of about $40. RCCL also did something similar for some of their med sailings. I don't think it was available for sailings from the US.
drychi Posted January 20, 2013 #20 Share Posted January 20, 2013 We asked for the 10:00 a.m. debarkation time. Found chairs on deck 3 in front of guest services to be comfortable, quiet, and near a restroom. One deck up to our debarkation meeting area. Not many people there either. Rare ORV Posted January 20, 2013 #24 Share Posted January 20, 2013 But don't you pay for the beverage card for the last day? No, just the number of nights in your cruise.
pnsnkr Posted January 21, 2013 #25 Share Posted January 21, 2013 No, just the number of nights in your cruise. In both of our cruises, the beverage package has been valid until we disembarked. From where are you quoting this information about nights?
