Live from Infinity--Hoping it will live up to expectations set on our...

Two exotic Caribbean cruises in service, etc...So far, they have a ways to go.

Not sure what the issue is. Could be the crew is just tired from the eventful South American trip and has lost their edge....

We've noticed the following so far:

Rich is the CD. YEA!!!! :)

No signs of "Code Red". YEA!!! :)

Total snub for service waiting for some one to take a wine order at Cafe al Baccio. We waited 30 minutes. The server served tables around us; but, not ours. I did complain. No response. This is quite unusual. In real life, I'm a Service Delivery Manager. I absolutely do everything possible to help the customer. :o

No in room ice service. :(

On deck eight forward, The mini-bar is not being serviced with water or sodas. We would normally have used about 100.00 worth of product by now. :(

No Celebrity bags were left in our deck eight forward stateroom. My wife brought her bag from the Eclipse.

Service in the Oceanview is still indifferent for coffee refills and drink orders...just more so....:rolleyes:

Yes, there is rust and yes the night time chocolates have shrunk. But, that's no big deal. I do wish they'd get to the windows in the Oceanview before we go through the canal...

we just got off the ship on Monday and the service @ least for us was

wonderful @ Cafe al Baccio. That staff worked so hard to make drinks etc., as fast as they could given the # of people who order from that

cafe.

Maybe it is a different crew. We found everyone there to be friendly and anxious to please.

Just ask your room steward for ice everyday (it is supplied on request) and ask him for your Celebrity tote as well.

for the mini-bar i had to ask the cabin attendent to get it restocked. When Infinity passes through the canal the heli-pad will be opened. to get to it you have to pass through the theatre on the portside of deck 5. You may want to wait near there as when the announcement is made that it is open there is a bit of a race for the beest spot. i stood on the portside of the front mast. A couple of things to note. 1. The very front portion is roped off as there is a mast and rader there. 2 Narration is not audible out on the helipad, 3. Watch your head as you are going out as there is a door with a big step and a low ceiling, you wil know which one it is as there will be a crew member beside it at all times. 4. Bring bottle of water to keep hydrated as you will bw in the sun the whole time. there will be a big deck sale on the day of the canal. Lots of canal related things to buy. It os usually on the starboard side of the pool deck near the pool towel station with the roller shutters. The water station on the pool deck is tucked behind the stage.

We are 2 couples also cruising on Infinity on Oct. 27 and looking to read more live reviews from Photo_Traveler as well regarding menus, etc.

We have found that ice has to be requested for your room. The bags on all cruises we have been in were delivered the next day. Not the day we got in the ship.

We were told that they are delivered on the first formal night. I think they want the ladies to use the handbag during that evening. 👜 :D

Good News mostly.

We worked around/through the issues. Everything else is typical Celebrity. We ran into a favorite sommelier from the Eclipse...

The Captain announced that Noro was on board and to follow mitigation procedures. :D. Code Red is not in force.

No Priest on board yet. The recommendation is to attend Mass in Antigua. They might bring a local clergyman on board.

We are back to giving Celebrity a Capital "A" :)

The van driver who provided us a tour of Puerto Vallarta was among the best. Look up "Juan Antonio" on our cruise thread...I'll provide more details later...

Sounds like there was a 7.2 rated quake off of Acapulco today.

Rumor has it that stops in Mazatlan and Acapulco are opening up again....

There are two types of bags, btw. Below concierge, you get a cloth bag much like a grocery bag. Concierge and above get a nicer bag, but sometimes you have to remind them. On our recent infinity cruise they gave everyone the cloth bags and we only got the nicer bag by asking why we got the cloth bag (we were in aqua).

Infinity: ask for anything. Maybe you will get it. Ice buckets, water pitchers, extra towels, shower gel, tote bags, etc. Ask your cabin steward. On most ships you will already have these items or get them with one request. If not, keep asking.

We got off the Infinity Monday and had a very good cruise. Service was great and the food in the MDR was better than some of the other cruises we have been on.

Have not had ice and water in the room for a couple of years. Once I ask we got it twice a day.

We got the nice bag the second day the cloth one was in the closet. Wish they would go back to the old one it was made better.

We had a Priest o/b for mass everyday and Sabbath service on Friday.

Going thru the canal was amazing. Ken Williams was the naturalist o/b and was excellent. He narrated all the way thru the canal.

I went to grade school with Rich! Had the pleasure of cruising with him on Connie in. 2010..

Yes, he said he is scheduled to do the crossing and I thought he said one cruise after the crossing. Then he is done.

When is "the crossing"? We will be on the Infinity in July. We have two couples joining us on our recommendation. Who will take over when Rich moves on? Tell us about the shows and Casino....The reviews are great. Thanks :)

The crossing is after this cruise, April 29. We are going back on the Infinity in August. Probably when Rich tells someone or the replacement tells someone.
