Just off the Constellation

And wow, what an amazing ship, we found the ocean view a bit disappointing so we upgraded to a Concierge Class cabin while onboard. The food, the staff and the ship itself were wonderful, as a first time cruiser with Celebrity I would definitely book with them again.

My only disappointment was the weather in Key West which was clearly beyond the control of anyone, and still managed to enjoy the sun for a few hours from the Balcony :)

I will post a few pics once I get everything transferred from my phone :)

Anxious to hear your opinion and see pics of the Constellation. We are on her in September for a European cruise. Have been on S class a number of times this will be our first on an M Class ship. We have a C2 cabin. Getting excited even though it is a few months off yet.

Transportation to Port Everglades:

We stayed at our vacation home in Pompano Beach (Atlantic & A1A) for two nights prior to boarding and used a local taxi service at a cost of $58.

Embarkation:

This was amazingly smooth, we got to Port Everglades around 11:30am and were onboard within 15 minutes. We wandered around the Atrium for a few minutes and headed up to Deck 10 for some lunch, grabbed some food and a couple of drinks at the Ocean view Bar. I believe our cabin was ready around 1:45pm.

Cabin:

Originally we were booked in 2147, a GTY ocean view, it was a rather spacious room but we decided that we would prefer a balcony and contacted Guest Relations. By 6:45pm we were booked in 8137, a Concierge Class cabin. This room was amazing, there was plenty of storage and comfortable bedding with a pillow menu and there was fruit, flowers and champagne waiting for us. The view from the balcony was great, no obstructed view with two deck chairs and a small table. We were left an afternoon canapes menu each night for the next day, bit the only thing I found edible were the cheeses.

Dining:

Each night we alternated between San Marco and the Oceanview Cafe, both dining experiences were great with plenty of different options. For breakfast we generally had room service and lunch I would grab whatever was nearby. My favorite meal during the cruise was the phylo wrapped lamb shank in San Marco.

Drink Service:

We had the classic beverage package, there were plenty of options and at no point did I feel the need to upgrade to premium, there were plenty of wine, beer and cocktail options including martinis at all bars except Crush (Martini Bar). The bar staff were great with the exception of one individual who worked at the Casino bar and definitely didn't seem to enjoy his job. My drink of choice throughout the cruise was the melon mojito (alcoholic) and the Iglu from the Cafe on deck 5.

more to come :)

Will be returning to the Constellation for the third time this summer. :)

Love this ship and the outstanding service in the MDR. We again have late seating which we love.

But this time we are thinking of eating dinner in the Oceanview Cafe once, after a long tour day.

What were the selections ?

Connie is our favorite M class ship. The crew fantastic.

Oceanview selections? There are about 40-50 things. Too many to reasonably list. You need to take a walk through and see the variety and how the choices change depending on the time. FWIW Sushi is our favorite!

Just curious to know how much it cost to upgrade?

We've never been on a cruise that wasn't full but often wondered how much they would charge if an upgrade was available.

We contacted guest relations and they advised us that they would call back within 45 minutes, they showed us the cabin and we agreed to take it, they brought us downstairs to switch over the room keys and when we asked about the cost they advised that there would be no charge.

I was exceptionally greatful to say the least.

Did you happen to get any pictures of the cocktail menus?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately no, actually the only bar I was at that I could see a menu for was Crush (Martini Bar) everywhere else I went to I just ordered off the top of my head, and of all the drinks I ordered (and I ordered A LOT) there wasn't a single one I couldn't get :)

Uploading pics today, my cat passed away last night so a bit slow with updating things.

OK, I see it. Soul Train. Looks good. Smokey, OJ's, Billy Ocean.

Enjoy!

No, that's not our charter. I think that one may be after ours. Ours is Carnavale de Caribe. No soul music, but an amazingly fun group of folks.

As Jobeth66 said...Soul train is the charter before ours. That leaves Saturday the 30th, ours is Feb 6th. A different group of fun folks for sure!

Thank you, it was definitely devastating as I've had her since before high school, but something I had been expecting for some time now. I'm more concerned for my other cat as he was practically raised by her and is 10 years old now too.

Do the Lounges/Bars have a daily "Happy Hour"?
