18 year old cruising with 17 year old friend

Me, my family , and my friend are cruising in March on the Allure of the Seas . I will be turning 18 in January (But still in high school) and he will be 17 (also still in high school)

Would be still be able to do teen activities together? like go in the club? should I ask one of the crews to make an exception? how else could I be able to get in the teen club?

did you graduate from high school-- if not then you take your school ID

YOU can go into the clubs-- your 17 year old friend will not. and yes you both will be carded.

I can tell you that kids that age will tend to just hang out together and do stuff around the ship. You will not be able to do things in the club house.

I have always heard that there is no flexibility in the age groups. So no, you would not be allowed in the teen club

The Teen Club is strict about their policy of 17 years old and under. My son was 18 and a senior in high school for our last 3 cruises this past 12 months and his sister is 17. They would not allow him in the Teen Club on Norwegian, Royal Caribbean nor Celebrity.

The 17 year old will need to do stuff with the 18 year old OUTSIDE of the "club"...you'll find most older teens don't use the club...they tend to find each other, and do their own things!

Have your passport with you for when you get escorted off the ship for unauthorized entry in to the Kid's Club!

If you are a high schooler with a student ID that says you are 18 you will be able to do that yes. the dance club starts later in the evening-- and you will be carded to show at least 18. your 17 year old person would not be able to go in there

Not really because I do not think you want to embarrass your family-- especially during spring break weeks-- the ships are on high alert to watch for unruly teens.

Don't know for sure about OPs cruise line, but on Disney and Carnival, 18 means out of the teen club. Period. Regardless if they are still in high school, or not.

Not a good attitude! Ships are very strict about this ..... Also strict about curfew. I'm sure you can both find plenty to do without breaking rules.

Oh for heaven's sake! I would think it would be a far bigger problem for the 17year old to get in to the 18 and older places. I can understand why they want to keep "adults" out.

Don't do anything to jeopardize your cruise, but I agree with some of the others. I think a lot of kids who don't know anyone will go to the teen club the first night to meet/find some friends and then they will find other things to do around the ship.

People can get wound so tight on these boards. It is a wonder people don't have exploding brains.

That sums it up. The teens onboard will gravitate if they wish and the clubs don't really matter much. In fact, it will spill over into the young 20s which can be dangerous, but that's not the question...

We were in our 30's exploring the ship one time, and found our way to the teens club. The crew member spoke to us on microphone and made an example of us. "No adults allowed". I didn't think that was necessary. We didn't know.

once you turn 18 you are mo longer allowed in the teen club. Exceptions are pretty much never made any longer

No you won't . repeated attempts to bypass the stated age limits WILL result in you being confined to the cabin at best and kicked off the ship at worst. WITH your entire party.

you will have to enjoy the ship in the public areas open to all ages YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED into the teen clubs at all and your friend IS NOT ALLOWED into any venue that goes 18 and up (typically a lounge or two after 10 pm)

Club02 is ages 15-17. Sometimes the counselors will make an exception for an 18 year old with a HS ID. But, it's up to them, it's not a given. We've had friends whose 18 year senior was not allowed, even with ID.

But, to answer the question, yes, I believe there are cruiselines that will allow an under 21 to book a room.
