Dear Cruise Critic Members,

Today we will announce the new loyalty program for Azamara Club Cruises - Le Club Voyage - to our members. The announcement will start going out at 10 am (EST) on email.

We have added a few benefits, and removed some. It wasn’t an easy decision to replace some benefits, but we believe it’s the right long-term decision for our guests and our brand. Look at it this way: you’ll be earning points toward free nights instead of free laundry or Internet minutes. Plus stateroom upgrades, savings on select voyages, and other new benefits. As a Le Club Voyage member, we never want you to question your value to us…or our desire to create value for you.

Best Wishes,

Azamara Club Cruises

You can see from other threads that the reaction has been pretty negative so far. I have a question. The removal of the free laundry states 7 nights. Does that mean for longer cruises it will still be offered ? I hope so, that that is the reason that 7 nights was mentioned instead of just saying no more free laundry period. Thanks for answering this question

Joel,

If as Azamara says you value your LCV members how is it that the new benefits are already on the website.

See post below yours

Surely if you actually valued your members it would have been best to email your LCV members the precise details and then put on website the next day for instance.

I know that you are not making these C K ups deliberately but it really does seem to be a habit.

Dear Procter,

We do value our guests very much. The fact that the information went up on the website earlier was simply to make sure it wouldn't be delayed should there be technically issues. That does sometimes happen.

Best regards,

"A bird in the hand, is worth 2 in the bush" comes to mind with these changes. I would rather have my free laundry and internet minutes that I can enjoy now, and on every cruise, than accumulate points that I may or may not be able to use at some future date.

Sorry Joel, but this one has gone down like a lead balloon. Time for a serious rethink before you alienate your loyal fanbase on this board. Please kindly make sure that the management teams are aware of the comments here.

We only want our free internet minutes and our free laundry back. We aren't asking for the world here.

And it was admittedly only a cheap bottle of bubbles, not even proper champagne, but it was nice to have the 'welcome home' touch in your cabin.....cost cutting and penny pinching...and I'll say it again.....this whole exercise looks 'cheap'.

Thank you.

one of the main reason for staying with this line was laundry and internet minutes. why stay without these.. i am interested in other lines but i wanted the laundry and internet.. on 16 day cruises it gets done 2 or 3 times. guess i am packing more clothes.

oh upgrades mean nothing if in a suite or owners suite..

to me this is another way for the line to save money or make it by over charging for laundry. .my balcony going to full of clothes while in ports..

i do ont go onholiday to go to deck 7 to do laundry.

The loss of the laundry and the internet is really a price increase.

I agree that those were two of the factors that kept me coming back to Azamara.

Slowly, changes are being made that cheapen the brand, and remove the uniqueness many of us have enjoyed.

We liked the harp outside the dining room. It is gone.

We enjoyed the piano in the Mosaic. It is gone ("moved" to the casino).

The complementary internet removed some of the sting from the very very very slow internet speed.

Many passengers appreciated the laundry. It distinguished Azamara from some other lines.

I always promoted Azamara to friends by stressing the inclusiveness. Now it seems management wants to go to the Carnival model of squeezing every possible nickel and dime -OK dollars- out of each passenger.

Yes, it works for Carnival; but the Azamara brand has always represented something different and better.

It's a shame because with the creation of two new LCV levels Azamara had a real opportunity to truly recognise and reward loyal guests. Instead they take benefits away and then try to fob us off with the 'enhancements'. Sorry Joel, but your post above is a classic example of one of these fob offs. Such a pity......

I am sorry Joel but I fear Azamara has missed what matters to its guests - unless of course we are about to see a ship wide inclusion of laundry and internet. The only way I can cruise as often as I do is by using the internet to keep work ticking over. Next year I will cruise on Celebrity in a suite with a private dining room and internet minutes and laundry (to a destination Az does not do). Per day is much less than Az the comparisons are going to be even more interesting.

So soon I will sit on a cruise beside someone on their second Azamara cruise and moves up a level and gets free nights whilst loyal guests who stood by you since 2008 and are at plus level are light years away from that final "gift"

Hardly seems a good recognition of loyalty sorry

Have to say I am also very disappointed with this long awaited announcement.

As Discoverer plus I was looking forward to extra benefits rather than having the best ones taken away!

The only saving grace would be if we could upgrade our balcony on our 2015 cruise to a suite for $199 per person but there seems to be so many T&C's and the fact we booked with the double upgrade campaign I am not going to hold my breath on that one.

Will ask my TA tomorrow:confused:

I have not seen this much backlash from loyalists since they changed the formula on Coke. :D

ed, it is the laundry!!!!! i can as we all can afford it but we are used to it.. plus so many sailed celebrity that gave us laundry.. as far as internet goes i will use my ipad to do updates and then find a restaurant to send them and pictures.

i left the ship not using most of my minutes as it was really bad in the UK ... your internet will be great in rio terminal not sure of other ports.

never drank the bottle or went to the wine tasting

Dear Azamara Joel,

Indeed your upgraded program appears to be a "take away" program. When one upgrades one usually adds benefits and does not take them away. Azamara really needs to rethink this new program.

Will people who booked cruises after January 1, 2015 but before this announcement be grandfathered with regard to benefits? I surely hope so since these benefits were in effect at the time of booking.

Hopefully, Azamara will see that they have made a huge mistake in taking away laundry and Internet and will be "BIG" enough to admit this mistake.

Hi

Can anyone tell me where you find out how many points you have please?

Thanks

You need to be able to log into Celebrity Captain's Club. If you are not set up there then get yourself registered. Then down the right hand side it should tell you your status. Click "view" next to it and on the following page "Sailing History" and that will bring up the points you have together with details of your cruises.

One question--after reading thru the changes (new and old) I could find nothing on benefits for Discovery Plus. Did I miss something, or is that to be announced later?

Thanks,
