  1. Ha ha everybody forgets the other side that could occur to. no one would call to pony up more money
  2. If you have kids it can be fun. I did it in Equinox last year and enjoyed. It is better than Wonderland on RCI ships. There are I think 4 different versions is the dinner. Mine was the one that had Italian and French theme.
  3. Well I do like having paper as backup in case app is down or issues with phone
  4. I hope so too it is first of nine this year. One a month. I am staying on deck 3 in ocean view room. Looking forward to seeing Labadee again toodles
  5. Aw sorry to hear. well she will be in your home for a while and I am glad I get to go on her. hope you get well soon
  6. Boy you lucked out having a balcony on side of ship with view of cliffs and a nice surprise too. are you dad trip coming to end or glad to go home?
  7. on the Equinox I had a balcony right next to Port side wings of the bridge and up one level. I would sit on the balcony floor and stare in and they waved to me.
  8. well hoping that does not happen to you again. Ilike the Silhouette too. I sailed on her out of Southampton to the Canaries. Nice ship. I am sailing on the Edge in August out of Barcelona and can't wait to finally see Monaco and then Italy's Cinque Terre. I even have dinner reservations in Eden. So if you do this on APEX, let me know how you enjoyed it then.
  9. wow that is one gorgeous photo. Did you use a filter or was that the true color? either way thanks for sharing
  10. Yes and in 2020 I had a reservation on the Vision OTS out of Venice and then the world shut down. Not sure if I will get back to Venice as I did it as part of a tour in 1985. However, I am finally going on the Vision OTS next week April 21 for 10 nights. Will be a nice change from the big girl ships. well enjoy your beach if near your home or if you are on a cruise.
  11. well I know this is a HAL forum, but check out NCL EPIC doing Greece next year. And RCI will always have an Oasis ship out of Barcelona but this year I picked the Edge as l liked the ports better and no need to stop in Naples.
  12. I enjoy Alaska, New England and also Norway cruises.
  13. she is such a pretty ship. Nice and traditional and not a floating water park. Do not get me wrong, I like some of those bigger ships like Oasis and NCL too, but to me this is still a nice looking ship. My very first cruise on HAL was on Amsterdam in 2010 for 2 weeks out of Seattle. I remember so many places in the back to stand and the several levels of stairs too.
  14. it was extra busy today as there was a concert on the beach. to the left of ship as leaving port.
  15. none of the ships sounded the horn as there is a large concert on the beach near the inlet. I can see it on the ptz.com beach cam (courtyard) best for also seeing the ships leave.
  16. well I am thinking the 2nd shows would most likely be at 9pm and you can have the waiter alerted that you are trying to get to a show. Then again best to think about seeing the shows on sea days. And if a show on a given day is very important, then do the buffet so you can see the show. I will admit it is a juggle. For me since I have done so many cruises, I almost 80% of he time go gto buffets and more folks also. I won't miss a show for a 1 1/2 hour dinner unless it is a speciality. Also, some ships will re broadcast a show on tv channel as well the next day.
  17. well yes it was I guess so except I did like the ducks. Now on Symphony of the seas, they had a lot of drones about 5 feet over the ice for the opening scene,
  18. welp there is an Irish place in Disney Springs that made me awful sick and it took me almost 4 hours before I felt good enough to get on a bus back to hotel. but on ships, almost never as I do the sniff test. Your nose won't lie most of the time. Plus I ask others I see as to how they like it.
  19. funny I did that on a ship last year and they chased me down in the buffet and begged me to come back. I told them my entree was notg good and since I was on the upper level and could look down, I noticed several table got the same entree, but they did not eat them and got sent back. I nicely told the manager to take a hint and remove it from the menu to change chefs.
  20. very nice to hear. Last year I went 3 times on different Oasis class ships to Coco Cay and there was always another ship. Enjoying this thread as I am on Vision next week on the 21st. Never been on vision class and looking forward to a smaller ship with and less action. I hope to enjoy the walk around outside under covered area too. I like atriums better than promenades. All those big girl ships are about the shops and not so much seats and atmosphere.
  21. no that did not work for me as it would not send under ships wifi. thanks anyways Apple phone and Sprint were a bit touchy that week
  22. yes and I loved the cookies with white chocolate/cranberries/cashews. Back in 2016-2018 I used to see them a lot on Anthem or Oasis class, but now I see less and less. A couple of times I learned the officers come and grab them to take to the bridge. Grrrrr And on my last two ships, I only saw the dark chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips once. I told one manager in the WJ to just skip the stupid jello and give us more cookies. He just smiled. Now I have noticed in the beginning of the cruise folks will grab a dozen to take back to room. I took will do this. RCI is just getting stingy with cookies more and more.
  23. i hear you. The big ships now have El Loco Fresh which is wonderful. I try not to eat many burgers on board unless I am on the newer Carnival with Guy Fieri's burgers. My favorite food on ships is the variety of bread and cookies. I like the grilled veggies too.
  24. I have good coverage anywhere in the USA. But I was told on the ship even in port one must be outside up on deck. I was in my room and I got charged roaming. oh well.
