  1. and I thought being in port would not matter but I found out the hard way. I had about 5 dollars on my phone bill for texting in port. oh well. Now I know why crew gets off ships and walks away to get on phones.
  2. oh I meant which ship itself was nicer and had better entertainment. I am to the point that itinerary is not important for Caribbean. I know folks like Davina but then the newer ones are here as well. I might hold off on MSC for a few more years.
  3. yes to all of that. I find Tony entertaining and Don a bit more serious. I like Emma more and more. I do not think Chris should stop working on ships as that is why we like his vlogs. Did you see the 1 hours of the dry dock of Symphony. Wow is all I can say. showed a lot of things in process. But I got a little tired of him saying he did not know what he way seeing. I mean workers were nearby and he could have asked. He takes breaks because he has to once a contract ends just like other crew he has to be off for 10-12 weeks. Oh and I like the fellow from Uk named Tips for Travellers.
  4. yes I have done all the big girls. Love the ice show on all of them. I liked Aqua on Wonder, and Symphony.
  5. wow that is a lot. I am wondering if it is getting planes in the right locations or the ground crew. If you are withing 300-400 miles I would try to drive it today.or tonight now. If you cancal air flights you will just have a credit good for 1 year.
  6. and on cruise ships, the Captain almost always has his room on the right side known as starboard and then other captain (staff) has the port side. Just interesting things to think about.
  7. Well I am booked on the Ascent for next fall and one would think they would have all those issues resolved. I do find a lot of balcony rooms to be noisy if it is windy outside. But for the most part really really loud creaking means something in the seams or walls is amiss and needs to be fixed.
  8. aw but Chris has a job on the ship; and Tonys wife provides a service I can not mention here. So does Don and a few others. I understand the click bait is something You tube encourages them to do. Some are just not as good at it and then those facial expressions OMG
  9. just to make sure please call and ask. I personally take time to pick my room, and then I stick with it.
  10. perhaps they burn it. overnight when island is empty
  11. gee that is a shame because on the oasis class the lunch was great, then again bigger ship. Well as long as they have a nice salad bar. I am on April 21 because I have never been on a Vision class ship and I wanted to try her before she goes to Baltimore. I like going out of FLA. And who knows how long RCI will keep her around once Icon 1 and 2 come out.
  12. wow well it would be nice if the cleaned up the flat lot a bit
  13. I like all the cruise lines. The old Home lines back in 70's was Italian. I think the newer Carnival ships are very nice. I would not do Virgin though. So please if anyone can provide me with name of the first MSC ship I should take out of USA waters I shall be thinking and thinking.
  14. wow free lunch that was nice. best of luck on Apex. I am doing the Edge in August from Barcelona and it is the first time on an Edge class ship. toodles you and Lain are one of my favs on all of CC, nice and polite and interesting too.
  15. well I don't normally either but I have had them when the waffle was thick and the chicken had NO skin. Otherwise not normal for me, but I at least wanted t try them in Mason Jar. never again.
  16. aw nice to know. I am still thinking about MSC since ships are supposed to be pretty but I heard a wide range of comments on the food. Then again, everyone has comments about food on all the lines.
  17. yes I have heard of this but when I ate in blu I just ate what they had. I did not want to bother the waitstaff until I found out on last day that the MDR kitchen was right next door and a quick walk. Darn. now I know. Then again I most likely won't pay for Aqua class again either.
  18. wow that would annoy me as well. I guess the shore excursions folks need to do more research.
  19. I have only been on one Princess ship and it is this one. I love the aft area with lots of places to look and stand as well as the ramp up to the bar. The new ships have put balconies in the back and less areas for the public. I am going on the Grand Princess for Alaska and looking forward to that class as well. Sorry you missed Roatan but I found it to be just okay. and Costa Maya was just okay too.
  20. Iam glad I caught this thread as I am interested in Sun Princess and did not realize it was going on sale next week for Fla. Also B2B are becoming popular and the cruise lines have it done pat. I would suggest if you know your 2nd room and it is close by, I would walk over my stuff and tell the steward to just leave it in the corner as you are getting off the ship. That is better than worrying if they move it which they will but if you do it without a lot of effort, then it is done and you can rest assure the luggage is there for you.
  21. i would take a closer look at the FCC FCD and see what the words are. Also perhaps call the cruise line, This is a most interesting question. I thought travel protection was for actual booked cruises but perhaps not. Let us know the answer.
  22. well now if trying to send a text message while ship is in port, I had to turn off airplane mode and my provider did charge me a small fee for sending text. One has to get off the ship and walk away to not get those roaming charges. Personally try to convince here to leave phone alone and tell boyfriend she will tell him all about it when she gets back. I sure wish the younger folks could be experienced life before cell phones.
  23. if you log onto cruisemapper, and click on the port, see what the schedule says. I know Juneau can handle 7 ships and one has to float around and tender folks in.
