  1. Aloha. Hoping you have a great voyage. as a previous poster stated the itinerary looks fantastic with sea days to break it up. Looking forward to your updates and as I always say…food pictures lol 😂
  2. Aloha. Thank you for your review. Much appreciated
  3. Aloha. Hope those who needed medical attention are ok. It seems to be the norm nowadays. The ships are bigger, the number of passengers are higher and statistically it is unfortunate that people will get ill and require attention. My father years ago had a previously unknown medical condition which required him to be transferred to a hospital while the ship was in Bermuda. Blessings that he was treated and released while the ship was still in port for several days. The coincidence was that the doctor was his next door neighbor in Manhattan who decided to move to Bermuda!
  4. Aloha. I forgot to mention that as a Diamond (Black Card) holder with MSC they have great perks when combined with the Yacht Club provides fantastic amenities. Totally curious as to your opinions which I respect!
  5. Aloha. Your Celebrity review was excellent as always especially the food pictures! Looking forward to your MSC review as well. We are black status with MSC but haven’t cruised with them in a while. The only way to go is yacht club and I’m sure you will enjoy it. As an italian I did have my bit of disappointment with some of the food but by no means unhappy. Have a wonderful voyage and thank you again for taking the time to share your fun with us!!!
  6. Aloha. The brunch looks delicious. Your table picture is awesome!
  7. Aloha. Thank you for your post. Im interested in the replies from recent cruisers. Sad to say I think the cutbacks will start to affect the premium elements of the various cruise lines. Thank you again.
  8. Aloha. Thank you for your posts and insights. Smooth saling!
  9. Aloha. Just read it from my library. Interesting information about his military service but I shall say no more.
  10. Aloha. Enjoying your posts and really appreciate the time you take to write them. Thank you so much!
  11. Definitely the Halekulani. Hy’s is excellent as well as the food. Taormina. Most of the time the ships mess it up by adding grenadine. I ask them not to add it.
  12. Yes…remember visiting and all visitor ashore announcements! I'm kinda the same weight but newer tuxedos as some older styles would be scary today. Especially the shirts 😂
  13. My first cruise was in 1971 and I’ve been hooked ever since. The changes are too numerous to mention but it has been an experience to watch the progression. Some good, some not so good, etc etc. I miss portholes, a massive midnight buffet. No idea how everyone was so hungry lol. Poster mentioned skeet shooting. Loved the creaking of the ships rocking me to sleep. Fast forward to the newer monster ships which I love too. Las Vegas at sea lol. Does anyone remember reserving deck chairs? No chair hogs 😊
  14. Aloha. My first cruise with Royal Caribbean was on the Nordic Prince followed by countless others. I remember vividly the Sovereign of the Seas and curious my fellow cruise critic friends think of Royal Caribbean naming another vessel the Sovereign of the Seas. Also, curious if anyone has similar fond memories of past ships and experiences. How different years ago versus today. All the best!
  15. Aloha. So enjoying your posts and how beautifully you present yourself. Thank you so much. In furtherance of your posts about formal attire I was thinking about how it used to be and must have been 100 years ago without air conditioning and wearing tuxes and the ladies in formal attire as well. I have previously posted similar thoughts. Love your pictures of the travel journal and other gifts which we too have collected over the years. Enjoy!
  16. Aloha. Thank you again for your pictures and posts. There are a few local establishments in Honolulu which make a proper Mai Tai and most on the Islands make them correctly because they are closely monitored. On the mainland and on most ships, they add grenadine which really detracts from the accurate flavor. I never order them in NY as in my opinion the east coast mai tai is horrendous. Since I fly Hawaiian Airlines regularly, I learned years ago that they serve On The Rocks Mai Tais which are made in Texas but come pretty close. My local liquor store in NY sells them and definitely is a must for me. Of course I need the umbrella lol but I do have some tiki glasses! The Halekulani hotel in waikiki makes great ones as well as some local restaurants I frequent but oh no…never in NY ! Enjoy.
  17. Aloha. I was thinking about the Jean Ann Ryan shows! Like you, sailing on the Norway from its inception in 1981 brings fond memories. So we are dinosaurs but that was truly cruising. People talk about some ships being small but I remember a big ship was 30k tons lol. I know those times will never be repeated but I thank you for bringing back great memories. Now I have to go put on my tuxedo 😂. All the best!
  18. Aloha. At this point in time I am skeptical of anything a carefully worded statement from any cruise line executive says. They are up their lifeboats in debt and while I certainly hope it goes well for the industry and passengers as a whole, it will take a long time to reduce debt while at the same time reducing the passenger experience with all the cutbacks which seasoned cruisers are noticing.
  19. Aloha. Everyone looked great and love the elegance. One of the reasons we enjoy HAL and Cunard is their elegance and love wearing a tuxedo which sad to say is not as often as I would like. Thank you for sharing!
  20. Aloha. Thank you so much for the food pictures. I know it takes a lot of time to take them and post them and it is much appreciated. All the best!
  21. Aloha. Thank you so much for your posts. Wishing you all the best!
