  1. Aloha. Thank you again for your pictures and posts. There are a few local establishments in Honolulu which make a proper Mai Tai and most on the Islands make them correctly because they are closely monitored. On the mainland and on most ships, they add grenadine which really detracts from the accurate flavor. I never order them in NY as in my opinion the east coast mai tai is horrendous. Since I fly Hawaiian Airlines regularly, I learned years ago that they serve On The Rocks Mai Tais which are made in Texas but come pretty close. My local liquor store in NY sells them and definitely is a must for me. Of course I need the umbrella lol but I do have some tiki glasses! The Halekulani hotel in waikiki makes great ones as well as some local restaurants I frequent but oh no…never in NY ! Enjoy.
  2. Aloha. I was thinking about the Jean Ann Ryan shows! Like you, sailing on the Norway from its inception in 1981 brings fond memories. So we are dinosaurs but that was truly cruising. People talk about some ships being small but I remember a big ship was 30k tons lol. I know those times will never be repeated but I thank you for bringing back great memories. Now I have to go put on my tuxedo 😂. All the best!
  3. Aloha. At this point in time I am skeptical of anything a carefully worded statement from any cruise line executive says. They are up their lifeboats in debt and while I certainly hope it goes well for the industry and passengers as a whole, it will take a long time to reduce debt while at the same time reducing the passenger experience with all the cutbacks which seasoned cruisers are noticing.
  4. Aloha. Everyone looked great and love the elegance. One of the reasons we enjoy HAL and Cunard is their elegance and love wearing a tuxedo which sad to say is not as often as I would like. Thank you for sharing!
  5. Aloha. Thank you so much for the food pictures. I know it takes a lot of time to take them and post them and it is much appreciated. All the best!
  6. Aloha. Thank you so much for your posts. Wishing you all the best!

  9. Aloha. Thank you for taking the time to post. Loving the pictures! All the best.
  10. Aloha. Thank you so much for your review and pictures. We were blessed to sail a South America cruise and Antarctica and the Falklands and your experience brings us great memories. All the best!
  11. Aloha. Sad about the prime rib situation. I’ve enjoyed prime rib since i was a little kid and certainly on ships. It is a must for holidays and in restaurants. The bean counters should be concerned about alienating some lifelong cruisers although i do not think they care. Sad.
  12. Aloha. Thank you so much for your posts and pictures of menus, food, etc. We love Celebrity having first sailed on the Meridian when they started. Wishing you a happy and healthy voyage!
  13. Aloha. Have sailed on both several times and it is just a different experience. Grills on both and in my opinion the QM2 of course is one of a kind evoking the QE2 which we also loved. QV is a souped up Vista class which we sailed with HAL several times. Im confident whichever ship you choose will provide an enjoyable vacation experience.
  14. Aloha. Past experience with Med cruises with Celebrity was with most Americans but I believe it may depend on time of month and itinerary etc. Those are factors also.
  15. Aloha. First experience with Celebrity was on the Meridian then the Horizon and so on. Each time noticed the gradual change towards the masses. Still a good product and experience. Our mediterranean cruises on Celebrity were a tad below Cunard but not a game changer.
  16. Aloha. I agree with florisdekort. Dividing our time between NY and Honolulu, my other favorite cities are Venice and Santorini. Definitely worth the visit. Notice i did not include New York. 😂
  17. Aloha. Where is BennyBrun? Miss his posts and food pictures. I thought he was going to be on the Celebration on the 8th.
