  1. Aloha. Thank you again for your posts and especially the delicious food pictures!
  2. Aloha. Thank you for taking the time to post. As a previous poster wrote, this is a first I have seen for princess and much appreciated. We love cruising and have been blessed to have seen the world with various cruise lines and via air/land. We divide our time between NY and Honolulu with cruising for us set to resume hopefully this summer. Enough of us…keep posting and love the pictures! Smooth sailing.
  3. Yes they are working on the dock but Lahaina has some great little art galleries and shops. It’s very quaint.
  4. Aloha. In Maui you can walk around Lahaina. Its a beautiful town. Of course there is much to do but Lahaina is a special place. In Honolulu, there is so much…Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, the North Shore. Unfortunately every island is not cheap and I would suggest getting some ideas from shore excursions or other other passengers. On the Big Island there are tours of various coffee plantations around Kona and of course Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. Kauai is more rural and has some great beaches. Everything is so dependent on what you really want to do, how much you want to spend. I can go on for hours. Sorry but it is a robust state with diverse opportunities for fun, relaxation and touring. Enjoy!
  5. Aloha. We love long cruises and I thoroughly enjoy wearing a tux. We love the TAs on the QM2 and getting dressed every night. That said, on a longer voyage every night is in my opinion too much. Imagine being on those ships in the early 1900s with no air conditioning wearing a tuxedo😂
  6. Aloha. Thank you for taking the time to post. Needless to say, we love Hawaii as you can see from my background lol. We love Princess also and their mini suites. Enjoy your style of writing and of course as I often post…food pictures. Enjoy the cruise and yes, having taken several pacific cruises including South pacific the water can be a little topsy turvey. For some reason I enjoy sailing in rough waters including the drake passage and bay of biscay. Makes cruising seem authentic. Enjoy!
  7. Aloha. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to do so.
  8. Aloha. I so enjoy your posts and thank you sincerely for the time you spend sharing. We have been blessed to sail countless times on HAL and other lines and to have seen the world. Your reports and pictures bring us fond memories and our desire to continue our journeys. That said thank you again!!!
  9. Aloha. Hope all is well. Love your reports and also those of some of your fellow world cruisers. Have been blessed to sail countless times on HAL and other lines as well and to have visited most of the places as well. If I may make a request to post the link to your blog because I love to look at the pictures especially food pictures lol! Much thanks.
  10. Aloha. Congratulations on the upgrade. Enjoy!
  11. Aloha. We are pretty careful as to Sharks in Hawaii but the box jellyfish is the problem. They appear a few days after a full moon and fortunately the government publishes a calendar so we can be more attention but the tourists generally either pay no mind or do not know. Their sting is painful and the aftermath not so pleasant. Even a mai tai won’t help !
  12. Cought covid and am still coughing three weeks later.
  13. Aloha. Thank you again for your posts and pictures. We enjoy HAL especially the Neptune Suites and Lounge. Sailing HAL since the 1970s and have also sailed over the holidays. Our first taste of Tamarind was on the Eurodam when it first sailed and have enjoyed it multiple times over. Miss the yum yum man lol! Have a healthy new year and love the food pictures!!!
  14. Aloha. We actually sailed on the Zuiderdam a few days after the blackout. We were at our home in NY at the time and my wife asked me to vacuum. I hate to vacuum and while doing so the power went out. It was the last time I vacuumed lol!
  15. Aloha. This passport discussion has been on various forums for over a decade. We have been traveling for decades and always with a passport. That said many people with a lot of children find the cost excessive and as a result fail to get them. That they may have been the political reason to carve out the closed loop exception. That said, some countries don’t acknowledge the exception and therein lies the problem. Thus, the buyer beware or traveler beware situation exists. Perhaps the government should charge regular fees for adults but a substantially reduced fee for minors if applied for at the same time. But that may be wishful thinking. Im sure if the state department pressed these countries and or the cruise lines they may reconsider their passport requirements but that too is wishful thinking. I feel bad for these travelers but everyone must be aware of rules and regulations also.
  16. Aloha Ellewoods and family! Loving your posts. We have been fortunate to sail many times over thanksgiving and Christened Hanukkah and New Years with our families. They are truly special voyages. On one cruise which coincided with Hanukkah and Christmas and of course New Years (we are a mixed marriage) the rabbis son was smitten with our daughter so she was involved in all the Hanukkah events especially the candle lightings. it turns out as fate would have that his name was the same as the gentleman she wound up marrying lol. Enough of us. Have a blessed new year!
  17. Aloha. We love your posts as they bring back fond memories of most of the places you have visited and are visiting as well as HAL which we love. Their long voyages are spectacular and special as well as the Neptune Suites which we love. Do you have access to the Neptune lounge? In any event have a wonderful journey and good health!
  18. Aloha. May you have a wonderful voyage and a blessed new year. We have sailed over the holidays and on HAL during that time as well. They are truly special voyages with fabulous memories. Enjoy and as I always ask…take food pictures lol!
  19. Aloha. Have a wonderful vacay and a happy new year and as I always post…send food pix!
  20. Aloha. Have a wonderful vacay and new year and please remember the food pix lol!
  21. Aloha. We visit Venice often and stay at the Hotel Cipriani. It has a swimming pool and transportation from the hotel across the Grande Canal to St. Marks Square. Service is spectacular as well. Happy new year!
