  1. Sometimes they aren't listed until closer to the cruise. Enjoy. So worth it. IMO
  2. Honestly, unless you are getting the Chef's table for free, it was a real disappointment on the Oasis last August. Food quality poor and the location was in the solarium dining room, an area carved out. Noisy and not what we expected. Thought we were on Impractical Jokers.
  3. Never appreciated AQ "perks" Blu not great. IMO- Book a balcony cabin, well located midship with cabins above and below, and dine a few dinners in specialty restaurants. A much more cost effective vacation. Sometimes you can get a CC stateroom for just a little more and get the extra cruise points.
  4. Good day to try a specialty restaurant.
  5. Definately Coco Cay. Our last stop a labedee had so many flies it was horrible. Went back on the ship.
  6. A small amount of tips is set aside for the cabin attendants and butlers We always tip additional for great service- varies but typically $20 per day. You need to determine how the service from your butler is.
  7. My cruise is in 28 days. Keep trying to log on to the Royal up site but get message must be 30 days in advance! The site isn't letting me bid. I do not have any blocks on my RC site or used a non-participating TA. While I am truly happy with my suite, we enjoy bidding up if the price is right- So maybe a full cruise doesn' t offer move up. I am used the correct reservation name and number.
  8. I will send a text to my TA. Never happened before- but who knows with this TA. Thanks
  9. Just a small area carved out of the Solarium dining room. Still noisy and people nearby having the buffet. We were very disappointed with the food and ambiance. So much better in 150 central park and cheaper!
  10. Why would I not be eligible to bid? Not with a big box store? Did use a TA. Is it possible that since I am in a suite, no star class suites are available?
  11. My cruise is in 31 days but when I try to go to move up- it states 30 days. However my cruise is booked and I doubt I will get any upgrade.
  12. The TA I used belonged to the Amex Platinum . However she no longer does so we aren't getting benefits on our next cruise booked with her. I booked another cruise directly with Amex Platinum and will be eligible for the promotions.
  13. No. You do yourself. However if you book via a non participating TA- like the "big Box" store, you aren't eligible for any move up. The down side of dealing with them. However, some people like the credits they get from the big box stores. a choice.
  14. You can get "free" sparkling at the art auctions and sometimes jewelry store events- typically not the first day.
  15. While both older ships, no comparison - Royal is the way to go.
  16. We would never bring heavy water or soda cans. Rather do without or set aside a budget for those items. The water on the cruise is safe to drink. My back and DH back aren't worth the savings.
  17. Depends. If you stay in inside cabins- and don't get extras a cruise could be cheaper. We LOVE the resorts in Playa Mujeres- not sure if we are allowed to say- but our family favorite is F---st resorts. Truly all inclusive. Airfare additional. But we do not live in florida so airfare always additional for us.
  18. Our 23 year old granddaughter accompanied us on our Harmony Cruise. We had a CLS. You will love it! The sofa bed was very large , seemed like a queen sized mattress. She was very comfortable. Had great pillows, you can request the type, and the bed was made into a couch in the morning and into a bed at night. She had tons of storage, her own full bathroom and TV. Although she was on her phone mostly! You are in for a real treat. The best location on the ship IMO. Enjoy your cruise.
  19. We no longer sail in AQ. Never loved the Persian Garden or the Perks. The location of Blu on the Edge class ships is poor. It is actually partially in a hallway and doesn't feel like a private dining room. If you dine early or late, you might get a decent table near the windows, rather then the hallway. However the Edge class ships and fabulous and beautiful. Many dining venues to try. Some free and some for an uncharge.
  20. We annually sail on an Oasis class ship. However, we only sail in suites, typically a CLS and it makes a big difference. Never use the ship's free toiletries, always bring our own. We also dine often if SP restaurants. Find the extra service and benefits so worth it in a suite. It is like a ship within a ship. Makes for a wonderful experience. We also love the Celebrity Solstice and Edge class ships and sail at least once a year on those ships.
  21. So true, not a fan of cats and have walked out of many cruise ship "entertainment" offerings! Some excellent AI's actually have decent entertainment and music in the evening. But the push is for daytime activities.
  22. I think you will really enjoy RC. We love it. IMO so much better then the princess line. The kids will have so many wonderful things to do, as will you. The entertainment is far superior. The food and service much better then princess. You cannot bring an extension cord for your Cpap machine but your cabin steward will get you one. The cord will be confiscated at the pier. A dinner package allows you to dine at the excellent specialty restaurants. Go on your reservation to see the restaurants and prices for specialty dining. We always book a few. Enjoy your cruise! Next time- Oasis class on Royal!
  23. We sail in suites, but occasionally balcony cabins. I would miss the service of two times a day. I find it great when I leave in the cabin in the morning and come back, the bed is made and the room is clean. Like the bathroom to also be cleaned. When we leave for the evening, like to come back to a welcoming clean and neat cabin. The little towel animals were a treat as was fresh ice and a clean neat bathroom with fresh towels. Another reason we will mix up our vacations with AI resorts.
