More Ocean Medallion Fun on Caribbean Princess

Screens are activated throughout the ship, mostly by the stairs / elevators on each floor. The screens display an interactive map of the ship’s decks and events.

Play Ocean has been enabled. Totally silly fun - pick a tag-along avatar, customize with a fin, cool colors, design and tattoo. You can pick a fish, turtle or seashorse. Select starter charms and save your finished product. Walk by a screen, tap (hold) an avatar that is swimming around and tap the like button if you want. Every 100 likes get a new charm.

You can spin the avatar or tap twice, it sneezes and bubbles come out — once again silly but fun.

There are word games one can play as well.

We were able to spend time with the IT team testing — still some features that need to be worked out and meaningful function being added but it all takes time.

One negative I heard was the elimination of the mailboxes with papers on the floor. We require the Patter since one of us has eyesight that can not read color screens. Will be on the Caribbean in 2019.

The Patter has been on the bed every evening but if you require it in a mailbox guess there will be a challenge with the delivery location. Only saw papers on the floor in front of the doors the first day.

Mine will be everyday. I don't pick up spam from the floor, the art auction and effy being the predominate junk mail.They could remount the mailbox on the doors right below the peep holes.

We brought a magnetic file and hung it on the door. The room steward was very happy not having to come into the cabin to deliver ship mail. Since we drove to Ft. Lauderdale, had the room for the small plastic file holder.

While the Medallion is waterproof, you do the ordering on your smartphone, which isn't. ;p

I take it that the upgrade was from the unlimited-minute "Social" package to something useful?

No it won't. Your steward will pick it up as he/she enters your cabin and leave it on your bed. If it accidentally gets kicked on the floor, he or she will put it neatly on your desktop. If it gets accidentally knocked on the floor again, he/she will toss it in the trash for you. So relax, you are on vacation .... enjoy the service provided by your room steward.

You may (or may not) have wasted your $53.

a) Princess might still be offering free Internet for Elite/Platinum then.

b) If (a) is not offered, you would still get free minutes and be offered an upgrade to unlimited internet for a price which may or may not be less than the $53.

We are on the CB in November. I just looked at my dashboard and it offers only one pre-sail option for the MedalionNet Voyage package. I see no mention of "upgrade". I am not sure what you bought other than access to the internet.
