I've been following your thread and you have really been good with your waiting for calls, emails, etc.

I do think that some of it has to do with your TA, especially since you say you don't think they will call and fight for you, or possibly even ask?

I am not sure how I read your e-mail. Are you saying that you got moved to a balcony cabin but aren't allowed to say anything? If so, who told you not to say anything? Others are moved without a problem.

I have not received an email from RC yet but online my reservation now shows a new cabin, Ocean View Deck 3. I am a little disappointed that the studios will not be built but nevertheless excited to be in a larger cabin for the same price.

That's what I was thinking too. ;)

I could upgrade to a balcony for another $2000 but nah I'll stick with this one, travelling solo I don't need much space. My wife and I will be in a CL suite on Symphony in 2019 (unless they decide not to build that one either, ha) so I'll save my pennies for that cruise. Deck 3 to 17 get to experience the bottom and top of the ship.

No notice from Royal but, our booked OV studio was changed to a category 6N standard OV. It’s on a higher deck all the way forward and facing straight ahead with cabins above and below. These cabins are usually last to book so I guess they are not a favored location however it’s located nearby to others in our party so I guess it turned out okay.

So glad you got sorted. I had a great cabin last year on the Ovation going solo and being a new ship was an added bonus.

You will enjoy the Oasis but this was the first of the larger ships to be built and i think you will definitely see a difference when you go on the Symphony.

Previously i had done the Allure then last year i went on the Harmony and just loved it. The only trouble is that I find it harder now to go back to the smaller ships, lol. (but i will :()

I am booked with my niece and her husband next June on Symphony.

By the way i am from Morecambe too.

Grateful to have discovered this thread as it explains the very random email I received last night with the 'documents I requested' (apparently). I had no idea what they were about and just shrugged it off, as everything (at first glance) appeared to be the same. Then I saw the title of this thread, read a little more into it, and realised what had happened to my dads cabin! He also booked a studio oceanview and also has been reassigned. Unfortunately they've put him on deck 3 under the Jazz club and after his last cruise, where noise was blaring at all hours and he could hardly sleep, he isn't too keen on that. But he's going to call and get them to move him elsewhere, and thanks to you fine folks sharing your various changes, we should at least be able to get him into a different, QUIETER oceanview cabin without much trouble. (One can only hope, anyway!)

And of course he's absolutely thrilled with the 'free upgrade' as he was hemming and hawing about paying for an upgrade to a bigger room -- he booked the studio before cruising this July, and although he really enjoyed his normal-sized Oceanview cabin, he was a bit concerned about going smaller in size. He's ecstatic to have a normal-sized cabin at no extra cost!

Thanks to the OP, Ned11, for bringing this situation to our attention. I too was booked on Symphony of the Seas in a studio ocean view cabin, and until I saw this thread, had no idea of the changes. Been on the phone with Royal since yesterday, where I was made to believe that I didn't know what I was talking about. Smh! Finally got thru to Loyalty Resolutions and they moved me to an oceanview cabin on deck 3, at first. But now I'm in a forward-facing ocean view cabin on deck 10. And I'm happy with that! :D Thanks again OP!

My mom is the same way. In these situations, I just call the place (in your case RCCL) and just start off the conversation as I am my mom. Just call and say you are your dad. You have all his information.

We have a friend traveling with us who was also booked in a studio on deck 4 and they've since moved her to a 6N, deck 9 -- very front of ship. Does anyone have experience with cabins in the front like that that could share?
